Thats funny, putting an 8-8 team ahead of several playoff teams.

49ers are overrated as a team.....great defense but huge? at QB. Remember Shanahan hiding him during the playoffs? Hell they even considered Brady before he signed with the Bucs.

There has never been a wild-card era year where all the same playoff teams returned from the previous year.
So it's an extremely safe bet (as in about a 100% certainty) that there will be new ones.

Which ones they'll be is another story.

Right? Especially just ahead of a 13-3 team last season. I'm just looking for comments that say we should be #1 or #2 and that the media is biased against us for not doing that. Lol.

I am surprised we are at 7.
If a poll was taken on here, we would be at 20. The Dak haters would have us at 32.

A few candidates (there will be more) to have their record change by 2 or more games

Decrease
New England (from 12)
Green Bay (from 13)
Houston (from 10)

Increase
Dallas (from 8)
Detroit (from 3)
Tampa Bay (from 7)
Pittsburgh (from 8)

I want to remember something similar was said about the Eagles being ranked higher in the pre season last year...

Yes.
Getting easier to make it. I was fine with them not doing this, as now early half make it. But no biggie.

Haven't looked it up; what is the format for 7 teams?

Barring big injuries, I see our floor at 10-6 with a nice upside.
But its all talk until its real.

7 seems a little high right now, but I hope they're correct. 3rd in the NFC is pretty good if true.

So no more 8-8 division winner hosting a 12-4 wild card team? If so, Great!

I worded it wrong, I think, so that can still happen. #2 seed hosts #7 seed. So division winners still get a home game for the 1st round.
So possible an 8-8 division winning team hosts a team WC with that has a better record.

Assuming the division winners get the higher seeds as before. Regardless of record.

Oh well.
I get why they want to award winning a divsion. But it really is a flaw in the sytem

Imagine two 13-3 teams in the same division....with one getting a bye and one not.....and then some jag team going 7-9, but winning their division.

That 7-9 team getting to host a 13-3 team in the playoffs sees wildly awful.....especially if the host is a team that has a great home-field advantage

Oh well
