Wonder if the Birds pick him up?

Maybe but the chatter up here is that Fournette might be looking for a starting gig somewhere and the way Philly uses TBs (rotate a lot), might not be a great fit for him. But I guess we will find out soon enough.

Fournette is another example of a guy being more trouble than he's worth. Still has a year left on his deal and they saved millions by cutting him.

They've improved their WR and TE corp so I'm not sure how they're setting Minshew up to fail. They've got three other RBs - Fournette won't be missed.
Yeah but the guys they have there....they aren't better than Fournette. It doesn't seem like play on the field was why he got cut.

I think that was probably due to contract reasons...now which ever teams are interested can sign him for whatever they can agree to.
Oh for sure it was but a running back just coming off a 1100 yard season in the prime of his career? One year left?I guess I do get it though because you don't want to invest a lot in the RB position but wow. I thought they'd find a suiter but its so late into the season.......

Didn't someone just lose their running back? Was it the Bills or Chicago?

i get that the jags are tnaking now but it is crazy how fast they went from afc championship with a amazing young defense to nothing. i dont even understand how u lose so much talent so fast.

I'm kind of confused by this move. I'm not going to sit here and say I watch a lot of Jaguars football but he does not look like a bust. He looks like he can play. He's still on his rookie deal....is there some internal things there? Marone said he couldn't even get a 6th round pick for him. That seems insane.
Confusing to me too. 1152 rushing yards and 522 receiving yards last year, and still has 2 years left on his rookie contract (1 being a team option year). Why would a team cut a guy like that, and why wouldn't another team be interested in trading at least something reasonable for him? Is there a problem that I missed?

Yeah that fall from grace was steep. But this goes back to what happens when you have a losing culture. Some people can't fathom how can a team be bad every year and collect premium picks year after year and still be bad. You have to change that culture. You are bringing in premium guys who are use to winning. They come to your organization and they immediately get turned off.

Me and you are in the same boat. I really don't understand this at all. And then you look at their running back depth chart.......you can't tell me they have guys better than him on the roster....

The Commanders just lost their starting tailback.

He's been in the league 3 years and has had two 1,000 yard rushing seasons. He's hardly a bust.

But the Jags are trying to remake their team and for many teams, TBs are not a high priority.

Hasn't he missed a lot of time due to injuries?
