One think Diggs has to be careful of is he can become overly aggressive. Yesterday they talked about Dallas liking him because he is a ballhawk but he has a tendency to bite on plays because he get too aggressive at times. I'm excited to see him out there and think he has a very good secondary coach who will help him transition to the pro game.

Practicing against the best wr trio in the league can only help our corners.

We play a really talented group of WR's right off the bat too. The Rams have good WR's and TE's.

Al Harris is a good coach.

This is a really good situation for Diggs.

His technique or more specifically, his discipline for using the proper technique, can disappear at times, so fans have to brace themselves for some feast or famine with Diggs early on, but I think Coach Harris will get him right.

I think there is little doubt Diggs is starting. Lewis has had little time to get up to speed and Diggs is flashing. They will show-case Diggs for first few weeks and if he struggles badly then Lewis is in wings. Dallas badly wants to hit on 1st (CC) and 2nd round picks.
Maybe so... as Parcells used to say, we’re fixing to find out. I hope he does start.

It ought to yeah.

It's a catch 22 with a lot of those secondary dudes this year.

If they dont perform...cant really be spending money to retain them, but if they DO, can we afford them?

My guess is one of them steps up this year, and we find the money to keep them around.

Either way secondary will top the draft need list next year.

Yeah unless they sign back for a Anthony Brown type deal......I don't see a scenario where Chido or Lewis are brought back. If the play well they are too expensive and if they struggle then why keep them? That's what confused me about the Reggie Robinson position switch. We are going to need corners a year from now for sure.

Where are you starting them? You got Diggs and Awuzie on the outside?Seems like Lewis and Awuzie should be our best slot corners. But I think Awuzie is also our best cover corner too.
Brown is the best slot corner on the team. I have Lewis rotating in

Consistency will be the key with Diggs I think. His play in college looked of the feast or famine variety. When he played well, he looked fantastic, but there were times where he looked to have 'guessed wrong' and gotten toasted pretty good (see LSU). The team will have to trust him before they consider making him a starter.

The " only times " Diggs seemed to struggle was just against that one lone player (Chase of LSU) .. can't think if of any other time where he
has struggled vs a certain player .. or college team.
And that's from a player that hasn't played the CB position for long. He's still learning the position itself.

Some can talk about his average 40 time, but there have been instances of a average timed player turning into an outstanding pro CB
ala Richard Sherman.
The key is if that player is field-fast. if he plays much faster than he times. i think that will end up being Diggs.

My main thing is we have to have Diggs playing within our top 3 CBs,..
per it be Awuzie-Diggs-Brown ... i do not want him being the 4th CB.

we need to get him valuable game experience and playing time as much as possible.
And though a rookie, i see him starting at some point of the season, if not Game 1.
He's a playmaker and if we want INT starter types, he needs to be front line player.

This kid been grinding going up against his brother the entire offseason. That is something even these coaches can't duplicate. He attacks the ball in the air which is something we haven't had here since Deion.

Ahem excuse me sir... You’re forgetting about Mike Jenkins for most of the 2009 season

Stash , A.J. Terrell was also burned to a crisp by LSU...................And he was drafted in the top 20..................

You have to credit Lamar Chase more so than taking anything away from Diggs. Chase is going to be s star when he gets to the NFL.

Supposedly those who can’t do, teach. However, that’s not the case for Dallas Cowboys new Defensive Backs Coach Al Harris. He walked the walk and talked the talk for more than a decade in the league, earning two Pro Bowl appearances in the process. Things of course are a little different going from player to coach, but it certainly looks as if he’s more than up to the challenge.

With help from Al Harris, the Dallas Cowboys 2020 second-round draft pick Trevon Diggs is quickly becoming one of the better cornerbacks early on in training camp practices. He’s not only been a camp standout from a rookie standpoint, but from an overall team perspective as well. This is great news considering the unknown state of the Cowboys secondary right now.

Early on in training camp practices Al Harris has been giving rookie CB Trevon Diggs a lot of individual coaching. This teacher/student relationship is something that should help the former Alabama stud DB get up to speed more quickly. Of course, coming from a top-notch collegiate program like Alabama doesn’t hurt either.

As a player, Al Harris was known for his physical, bump and run coverage style. It’s that playing style that I believe he will try to instill in his players, which should help shorten Trevon Diggs’ learning curve immensely. He was after all at his best in press man coverage during his time in Alabama.

I absolutely love what I'm hearing and seeing of this kid. He isn't afraid. If you do get beat its better to get beat looking and fighting for the ball than just being and sit and duck waiting for the ball to drop all the time

As Irvin said as a young player you need to learn when to gamble and when not too. I want Diggs to be aggressive but I also want him to be smart, hell I am willing to give up a 5 yard catch on a 3rd and 10 instead of trying to jump the rout. Again be aggressive but be smart because stupid will cost you big

Love bump and run, instead of giving players a 10 yard running buffer.
I like it too, however....
You need some strength, relatively speaking. But also, you have to be either fast, long , or both to pull it off....because inevitably someone is going to blow by you.
Diggs fits the bill for sure.
