You shouldn't. It's the best depth on our roster and probably best in the league.
We have two starters in Thomas and Lee as backups, along with exciting prospects like Gifford and Francis.
Our LB 5 or 6, whichever you consider Gifford, being fragile shouldn't worry you even a little bit.
- How is Lee a backup ?
- Giiford is fragile and remains fragile means he's not likely to be avaliable when we'll really need his availability
Supposed to be a minor injury but he's already missed most of camp. He's very young while Lee is very old.
And that will likely be one less LB, ..so how can we not worry about that ?
- i like Bernard too, his college rep had him as an instinctive playmaker middle LB, and he's held up to that in camp.
- March is strictly a special teamer, and he's a non factor vs run and mediocre vs pass, he won't help our base or nickel packages if we
need a immediate injury sub, on a longer term period.
it's a good chance he may not make the 53 roster but special teams work may bring him back.
- i still don't understand why the team did not consider more LBs into camp to compete vs March.
- Thomas offers experience, (he's played in both 4-3 and 3-4 schemes) speed and versatility and he's a key special teamer as well.
but he can be bounced around vs run as he didn't play well as expected when injuries hit LVE and he was asked to fill in a lot more.
Thank goodness for Sean Lee 16 games in 2019..!!
. And i have hope Thomas' own usual dings and nicks don't end up having him unavailable as well.
- I could see the team looking the waiver wire around the league for a street vet LB (ala Malcolm Smith last year)
or a rookie guy LB they liked and didn't expect him to a surprise cut.
