Earl is not coming it will be Thomson giving way to Donovan Wilson. Guy can take the ball away, play the box and he's hungry. He's a 6th round guy but....outplaying blue chipper Haha Clinton-Dix big time

Such a noticeable shift compared to the Garrett “we like our guys” era.

except that's a Stephen thing, they liked their guys because Stephen won't pay for guys. they still signing cheap players . the same as the Garrett era.

Where are all you people that wanted to trade like a 2nd or even a 3rd at most for Adams because safeties dont matter?

Why all the freak out now? You can just run anyone out there right?

Gibril Wilson and James Butler agree with you.

At this point you are correct.

Unless he’s waiting for injuries to happen. But nothing is guaranteed if he signs after week one.
I just think we need to stop overthinking here.

All the REAL issues of not signing Thomas have just evaporated.

1) we have an answer in HaHa Dix already

Wrong..he failed.

2) it will cost us a high draft pick to get him.

Wrong..no picks involved.

3) he will want too much money

Wrong. After another change of teams, his price drops with each change

4) we don't have the cap

Wrong. Of course we do. McCoy released now Clinton Dix.

Rough guess we saved about $3mil each on the cap. Somebody can posted when they know.

Make that work by adding another $6 mil in incentives. Rework Crawford and Zeke if needed.

If they do a 2 year deal, they can spread the cap hit over 2 years, know?

This looks like what we have been waiting for.

It's not credible at all, but a guy in a couple reddit threads tonight is saying that his brother is one of Earl's buddies down in Texas and that this is going on.

Like I said, total rumor. But it's something.
Post the links.

Sure.

"And Jerrah said there were 500 coaches who could win with our talent." Circa 1995.

Hmmm..

So we can have a guy who might be a d-bag who his previous team hated in Thomas or a guy like Reid who Jones probably hates.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Wait, are you talking about Eric Reid? I don't think he is on anyone's radar unless they are desperate.

Reports are saying Wilson is not anywhere near ready. He flashed early and camp but has evened out

My take on this is they have been in touch with ET and they are far apart on the money/terms. This screams like an attempt to get ET to accept a deal closer to what Dallas wants. They are letting him know they are willing to look elsewhere and he might miss out again on being where he wants to be. I don’t believe for a minute they aren’t interested. They just aren’t rushing to give him a big deal. They still want to carry over as much cap space as possible and probably only want a 1 year deal hoping to get another comp pick when he leaves. Their patience on these deals is amazing to me. They must have knowledge of some other safties who are going to be available.

I'm thinking the Cowboys will sign ET. MM seems like the kind of coach who has a good feel of the locker room and can manage that area well. He's not going to put up with a malcontent if that's what ET is. It just makes too much sense not to sign him. We need him and he needs us.

I would have made that trade the Browns just made for Ronnie Harrison. The Jaguars may be the only NFL team with worse Safety talent/depth than us.

If I was the Cowboys GM, I'd inquire about these players:
Jesse Bates, Bengals, Age 23 - They absolutely should not give up on him, but he has 2 years left on deal. Basically, I think he hits free agency before they are ready to compete.
Tarvarius Moore, 49ers, Age 24 - Plays in a crowded 49ers Secondary. They won't just give him away but could be willing to move him.
Will Harris, Lions, Age 24 - We supposedly loved him in 2019 Draft. Currently a back-up in Detroit.

I feel the Cowboys have been fairly creative and straight up brilliant with contract language lately. They should be able to sign him with incentives for good behavior & performance, as well as significant consequences for any shenanigans.

This makes more sense to me than ET.
