Definitely a surprise cut considering many of us felt he was an upgrade earlier in the year. But after hearing reports of him not having a good camp the probability seemed to go way up. However, Mike was already familiar with him and thought he would be kept based on prior production/experience, and lack of depth at safety. However, he must have performed terribly in camp. Always seemed like steady player that could make some plays.

This was coming, when Darian freaking thompson beats you out you know its over. This would be a great time to get ET but they are adamant about avoiding him at all costs.

He must played like crap in camp or they might make a move for ET. But I think its option 1.

Well I would say ha ha to dix, but he just made the easiest 2.5 million ever ! Maybe he tanked on purpose, he already
made enough money, why play in this covid season?
Not smart to guarantee that much.

...Well the door is open for ET...but with his baggage, I imagine he'd have to take a hefty pay cut of some sorts...If Dallas can get him on the cheap ...and he behaves...the defensive secondary could use his service!

....right so less than HHCD based on AAV and roughly the same guarantees, you didn't prove a point at all.
Joseph has been plagued by injuries and is now healthy and in line to start while HH was just cut.

You wanted safeties in his price range who would have been better options and I gave you them, you can take them or leave them. Idc.

That's your view for Poe, that isn't backed by fact at all just opinion. Hell you can go to the HHCD signing thread and see what you're saying isn't true.. The contracts also speak for themselves.

But yes, fresh crow is definitely in order!
You are talking hindsight, and ignoring what the team may have felt about the 2 players at the time. As far as proving a point, I did prove you wrong about Phillips, and all I said about Joseph is the team may have felt he was a lesser player than Dix. No, I can’t prove that - didn’t suggest I could, so your argument doesn’t make sense. You can’t disprove it either. The point is we can’t speak for the teams thoughts - neither of us can.

As for saying I am expressing my opinion on Poe, what the hell did you think I meant when I said “I view” him differently? I told you it was my view, so again, your argument makes no sense. Surely you are aware opinions are allowed and frequently expressed on this site.

You dont seem to understand that everything is not measure numerically. How people view a player, or what the team or fans expect from a player, is not the same as AAV and not strictly based on a formula.

You also don’t seem to understand that not team has a perfect record on free agents, so while disappointing Dix didn’t pan out, this isn’t the major source of embarrassment you imagine. The Cowboys didn’t tout him as a cure all, or a star who would elevate the team to new heights, he was a one year veteran presence they hoped would do a good job for, again one year

I'm as sure as can be that Will will be scouring the wires to see who's available in the final cuts.

Whether we find a better guy than we have now remains to be seen. There's always a chance.

Seems like Ha Ha's about ready to retire! He's getting a bit long in the tooth now, obviously.
He'll be collecting a tidy sum to tide him over 'til he lands another team or hangs it up.

From the looks of things, Earl Thomas isn't willing to go under the $11 mil he had in Seattle.

He’s already getting 10 from Baltimore :)

Sweet. The next team that gets him would likely be held up for more than the Cowboys might find acceptable. :omg:

I'd be astounded if Jerry and Stephen Jones saw fit to break the bank for that dude. Yet, stuff can happen, I imagine!

Why would he do that when we have Zeke, and Pollard on a rookie contract?
Depends on the price. I doubt AP would want to come to Dallas though because he will likely want to play somewhere he can get more carries than Dallas would offer.
