I have zero problems with what he was saying. He is right in that when you are the leader, you cant show weakness in public.

Imagine a military leader showing weakness to his troops that he is supposed to be leading?

i know it is horrible to compare military with football, but....
All he is saying is that as the QB of a team, especially the Cowboys, you dont go public with it. Thats all... dont go public because you cant show weakness. The position comes with a built in pressure. You can have all the issues you have, but DONT go public with it. I know in today's world we are supposed to be sensitive and all, but some things you can keep quiet about.

Screw Skip, he just made me a big Dak supporter. I appreciate Daks openness and honesty about his depression and struggles, that’s a real man who doesn’t care about fake bravado like certain people in this country.

Edit*

And anyone who defends Skip can put me on ignore. This isn’t weakness it’s life and I would bet money other players who struggle see someone who isn’t going to judge them for their struggles as well.

Football players are humans, you know.

Not everyone handles tough experiences the same. Dak has lost his mother and brother in a short time span.

There's nothing wrong with him being depressed over his brother, especially during the offseason.
If his teammates think less of him cause he's down cause a close family member died they aren't much of a teammate.

Sad thing is, the backlash he is getting this may have cost a a less popular media figure their job.

Not Skip though

Skip is a TV character. Period. He's willing to say ridiculous things, be the villain and/or buffoon for the sake of clicks/views. However, today's take is extremely dangerous due to the potential impact it may have on those who watched the show and struggle with depression. Im not sure he will apologize tomorrow but I do believe he'll try to clean up the mess tomorrow. Probably will be forced to do so....

I'm former military. Classes and base wide briefings on depression and suicide awareness were the norm. The brass never made light of those issues and publicly instilled in us that we should be perceptive of any signs that someone within the ranks is dealing with them, and what symptoms we are to look for if we think they are. If we suspected that a person was struggling with depression/suicidal thoughts and behavior, we were to report this up the chain of command so that person could be helped. From my experience the military generally doesn't make light of that, or tell us to just suck it up. There are numerous channels made available, in which active duty personnel struggling with depression can seek help and not be shamed for it.

You should've thought this response thru. You have no idea what a real leader does, and you have no idea what it's like dealing with depression. Delete this response it's embarrassing and insulting.

what is the big fuss about .? skip is right , The whole world faces much challenges and tribulations. This soft culture sympathy is conducive to a culture condoning weakness and underachievement.
losing family member is sad , but move on man , Dak is one of the last to complain . He seems to know little about actual suffering going on , especially after covid . He has to show more toughness , stop sulking and stop the excuses.

Gandhi is full of compassion here.

Skip Worthless is a complete embarrassment to the profession he represents. If he wasn’t such a lightening rod of ridiculous opinions, he wouldn’t be employed.

I have several friends who are professional journalists and they do their job with integrity and class. Real pro journalists do still exist. But it’s people like Skip that make the profession so easy to criticize these days. When he wrote for the Dallas Times Herald back in the 80s and 90s, he lost all respect of most of the local DFW masses with his over the top half truths and innuendo.

If Skip’s face ever shows up on my TV screen or laptop, I change the channel or page. He’s literally disgusting. He should be canned for these gutless comments.
