For me it was Ha Ha Clinton Dix.......he was washed up the day he was drafted, IMO.
But people loved the acquisition because of the name recognition and they just like saying Ha Ha.

Here's hoping Cam Erving would be on a short leash if he's as poor a tackle as so many claim he is.

Also hope the coaching staff is open to utilizing Brandon Knight, in the event Cam Irving stinks it up!
I agree but I fear their is a real reason Brandon Knight isnt starting and Cam Irving is.
Now with the JG era staff I would chalk it up to possible coaching incompetence. With the current staff I have to assume Knight hasn't exactly won the right to start.

That's not what my post was arguing, just giving reference for penatlies. You know that, but are choosing to act ignorant.

I'm glad I could shed some light for you on why the Erving signing was so questionable.

Go cowboys!
I agree that it was questionable.
However I don't know if we passed on any other players who would be willing to back up 2 probowl tackles and play on a 1 year deal.
I would imagine any sure thing upgrades to Cam would be looking for a longer contract or a place where they can start.

you mean replacing a pro bowl caliber tackle with a crappy swing tackle is a liability?

SHOCKER! seriously...where do these guys come up with this dribble.
who'da thunk it? then again, how many pro bowl quality tackles can a team afford to carry?

coaching matters. doug free was a horrible lt. he became a very good rt. jeremy parnell became a very good swing tackle when he was coached by frank pollack. we don't know what erving can do in a game for the cowboys yet. coaching and scheme will no doubt have a lot to do with it.

Sorry, he’s my most-despised Cowboy ever for dropping that wide open sure ****** TD pass. I’ll never forgive him. Ever.
Obviously that’s your right. It’s one of the most frustrating points for me as a Cowboy fan, but that kind if intense dislike for me is reserved for people who intend harm. There were a whole lot more mistakes in that game than that one, and that one just happened to be at a moment that’s easy to spotlight.

Something I think people lose sight of is that, while it would have helped the cause if Smith had caught that pass, it would not have ensured victory, nor was it the Cowboys last chance. There was still 2:46 left in the 3rd quarter at the time, and the Cowboy allowed 2 more TDs. It probably hurt more than Smith’s drop that the Cowboys fumbled a kickoff in the 4th quarter and gave the Steelers the ball at the Cowboys 18 yard line, which led to an easy Steeler TD.

If his IS struggling I expect the coaches to actually do something about it this time.

In 2019 they already moved to an offense with less slow developing plays and more focus on getting the ball out quickly.

Even with no help, just the changes to the offense that Kellen Moore implemented in 2019 would have eliminated some of those sacks that Green gave up if the Chaz Green Atlanta game had happened in 2019.

Almost 3 full games with Matt Moore as QB were all when Erving started.

KC's defensive stats were worse when Erving started, especially average points allowed.
Only 2 and a half games with Moore.

Yeah, the defense suffered because the offense struggled more to maintain drives with Erving allowing a team leading amout of sacks in only 8 games. That's why that happens.

I watched all snaps that Erving played in all 8 starts.

He was basically Doug Free, except Erving was at LT instead of RT.

Wow. Erving despite the contract advantage is taking a backseat to UDFA scrub Steele.

I can tell.you after comparing him to Free you didn't watch a single snap, let alone every snap.
