LVE is made of glass, he’s the new Sean Lee. Move on from him. Jaylon looks like a borderline NFL player these days. This LB corps went from being superstar in 2018 to being awful.

Jerry failed the team by settling on McCarthy and Nolan. Uninspiring guys with very little recent success. If this team fails to make the playoffs in the worst division in the NFL again, Jerry may croak.

I'm just disappointed that we aren't seeing plays that are quick reads that confuse the defense.

It's just more drop back / Troy Aikman style football.

Why can't we just do some of what Andy Reid is doing? Or McVay last night?

17 points man.. You have all of those weapons and we scored 17 points.

That game played out like many last year. Close, didn't make enough plays, a bonehead coaching decision, lose by one score.

Yeah the game was ugly but to be brutally honest what exactly was anybody expecting without a training camp, and no pre season games? New personnel, new coaches, injuries...Football the first half of the season may be ugly, and just wait until the injuries pile up for all other teams

If we can’t run with the Rams, I’m not sure how we’re gonna fare for the rest of the year.

That game was not nearly as close as the score indicated. I’m confused as to why we weren’t blown out with the way this team was playing. Defense had holes EVERYWHERE. Secondary, thought we got an interception, was just getting picked on through the play action. Even when the Rams ran, the defense couldn’t stop them. Didn’t even know you could possibly be that slow and play in the NFL. Our tackling,. I’ve seen our players get dragged, pushed, hit, etc. What kind of defensive player are you if all you’re gonna do is get side swiped and bullied like a 3 year old on the playground.

don’t forget the fact that we’re literally only a game in without our TE, who we were all looking forward to, and our not so good but better than the backup LB in LVE.

sigh. All we can hope for is that Big Mike has more fire in his belly than Garrett. Maybe he’ll hold the team accountable? Maybe he’ll make them do 1000 suicides at 6 AM in practice (which doesn’t sound like a bad idea) I don’t know. Maybe I’m getting my hopes up. Same crap, different year .

Pretty even matchup with the Rams scraping out a 3 point win at home.

I did like the Rams game plan though. They really controlled the ball and that defense has potential.

Honestly, we were lucky not be down worse early.
That 17 PLAY DRIVE where the Rams got in the RedZone and came away with nothing was a blessing. They were dominating us at that point.

Then when they had the ball again, we hit their QB square in the head while he's throwing the ball and get an interception---not only taking away possible points from them but setting us up with a short field and gifted 3 points.

Couldn't agree more. Came onto the site to basically say the same things. I kind of ate the cheese on the Cowboys this year and that loss was terribly deflating. The team was flat out coached. McVay made Mike look bad and it was mostly the assistants.

The one thing I would add is that the defensive tackles again were getting driven way off the ball. I didn't expect that. It seemed like the line of scrimmage was being pushed a few yards the wrong way on every running play.

I'm sure Dallas is going to have some games where they beat bad teams 40-10 and its going to cause certain people to puff out their chests but from what I saw, a lot of the issues from last year have not been fixed.

I will say that the defense actually adjusted. Dallas started keeping defenders in the flats and that stopped what LA was doing. It took longer than I would have hoped but an actual in game defensive adjustment was nice to see.

It's early but I was never on board with the McCarthy hire but i'm willing to let him win me over.

I was particularly upset when I heard that he would be letting Kellen Moore run the offense and i've tried to buy into the Garrett had Kellen on a leash theory.

Right now it looks like the same crap and McCarthy is going to find out real quick that Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers aren't here to save him.

The new coaching staff should've gave us an element of surprise.

It was the Cowboys who got surprised.

They hid their little training camp like they had something worth hiding and I guess you could say they did surprise some of us because it was the same ole crap as always.

Agree. These guys keep using the same excuses to cover for their pet Quarterback.

Same as it ever was

Why can't we run hurry up to keep their defense from substituting? Why do we run long, slow developing plays? We have 3 great receivers and Zeke and Pollard. Make Aaron Donald winded. Force them to play fast on defense. Dak run the ball a few times in the first half and force the linebackers to think about blitzing!!! Our offense is so stuck in the mud. It is not 1980, stop playing grind it out Bill Parcells football.

The Cowboys hadn't forced a punt when they went for that 4th down. Did you honestly believe at the time that 20 was going to get the game to overtime?

There's no upside to kicking a FG there, especially when the defense isn't playing that well.

So what’s the excuse for getting just 3 points in the entire 2nd half?

Nothing has changed from last season except the excuses getting more creative.

3 points in the 2nd half........spin that

There isn't a spin but that has absolutely nothing to do with what I'm talking about.

The offense looked just like last year after week3. Where was pre-snap motion, jet actions? What the heck happened to play action?! Sigh.

Not only was that game awful for the short term it hurt us bad in the long term.

Jarwin? Out for season.. We had a dynamic TE finally on the field for us and now it's back to a few yards and a cloud of dust with Schultz if we're lucky.

LVE? IR. Broken Collarbone.. Is that something he can come back from and play this year?

Coaching? They got schooled by McVay. I'm going to hold off on saying our defense is terrible because the coaches did not have them prepared at all for all of the misdirection...

Any time we made Goff actually drop back and read a defense he looked poor and our guys looked pretty decent.

Offense? I liked what I saw from the RB's. Zeke looked incredible. Dak looked like a ho hum player. The wideouts didn't explode like I was hoping. It just really looked all too familiar and keeping the same system is fine but you can't tell me Dallas wouldn't have looked better doing what the Rams were doing on offense.

It's just disappointing. Bad coaching decisions. More of the same. It looked like a Jason Garrett team.

Re LVE Have fractured mine. It will heal within this season but is susceptible to further injury. It was a true Break. Bone separation a whole longer.

Mine was from a road bike cycling crash. Still rode home 5 miles after the injury. Throbbing etc but manageable. No way he could stay in game as it would have broken causing a longer IR

On a positive note Gallup looked awesome! He burned the best corner in football several times.

Cooper was good too and looked fast.

CD should improve also. After all 1st time in the big leagues. Also,Imthink,he will learn a lot about position Re markers etc. to be fair the DB had a straight shot at him and based on video I saw a great backwards forcing tackle that is rare to see in the NFL these days with all the rules changes

This morning's headline read like your typical Dallas Cowboy game for the past decade: Questionable decision and a controversial pass interference call were the focus in MM's Cowboys debut. Sounds like a freaking broken record.

Same crap different season.

Hopefully we don’t have to wait until next season to adjust.

Im not interested in watching our 50/50 brand of football.
