Why the 4th and 3 failed

The reason they didn’t convert that play...was that the kicker was not on the field.

You make it 20-20 and hope your defense makes a stop and go win the game.

I don’t mind the 4th and 3 going for it. I just hate the give up draw on 3rd and 6
THIS. the give up draw was pathetic. I understand a give up draw in the goaline. Not from back there. Thats the confusion, different levels of aggressiveness on a span of 2 plays. A conservative decision to call a draw on 3rd and 6 to then aggressively go for it down by 3 with half a quarter to go.

Well they knew they were going to go for it on 4th down so a safe run for 3 or 4 yds seemed to make sense. I agree with a pass if I know I'm going to kick a FG on 4th down. Which of course I would have done so yeah you right...pass the ball.
makes perfect sense down by 4+, not down by 3. I can only see it make sense if you're at the goalline on 3rd down, not from back there.

Good breakdown here. Good defensive call, give them credit. Not as simple as Lamb not getting to the marker.

Nice analysis, but the TE clearly didn't do his job of getting in the way of the safety no matter who it was. He is supposed to run underneath the guy and make him go around him, not run by him and give the guy the underneath path.

Honestly...……...this is ANOTHER case of the Cowboys either not being coached or not using the pick play concepts. Another big hole missing in what normal offenses do to pick up on 3rd and 4th downs.

Oh and, the offense looks exactly like last year. Yes they had a couple of good drives but, the difference between the Rams and the Boys on Offense was glaring. They got big chunks on every play, Dak is just standing there waiting for people to get open and turn around.

This is also a definite issue. The Cowboys offense seems to be drop back and wait 3 seconds for plays to develop. Rams simply got rid of the ball quickly in a 2 seconds or less. Your point of blaming Dak for "standing around" is laughable, but overall its a valid point for the offense.

CeeDee should've went a little deeper in his route. Look like it was a design play. But I personally would've gave Coop or Gallup that play. Really don't care about going got it 4th and 3rd.

First play of the game really set the tone didn't it? Disfunctional football at its best.

its partially CD as well. he is a rookie, so those kind of mistakes are expected. He cut his route too short, because of the DB, and he should have forced the matter and run his route. it ended up a yard short. he is got to learn that this is not college and everyone is talented. all defensive players can tackle.

1st game of the season....really played out like a glorified preseason game.....Big Mac gave Kellen Moore the opportunity and trust to call plays and run the offense...... Now Big Mac took the heat for it.....as he should but....bet he won't be so trusting next time......McCarthy learned a hard lesson ...... trust was given and now trust will be earned...

Lose another game like this and Kellen Moore will be benched and the Big Mac will be calling plays

really this is just another thread with differing opinions. If you dont like dak your going to focus on a throw that should have been better. If you like dak then you can take solice in the fact that Te could have rubbed a bit better and the rook could have been deeper in his route.

fact of the matter is they all are somewhat right and all are somewhat wrong. You certainly can tell though certain poster look through a lense of dak sucks it plays out in thread after thread. certain poster look through a lense of just the opposite and that too plays out.

Relax its game 1. Id be alot more worried about the front 7 that was going to be a huge improvement of this team and an Oline that sucked ballz.

What about those of us who watch the play and say, "Why didn't he read the Safety and go to the open guy?"

100% agree, the offensive plays look the same and uninspiring.

I'm just going to ask you all to just watch the play. Watch the WR, Coop I believe, to the Right side of the formation and watch what he does. Watch Zeke, watch him flip sides in the gun and start running a little wheel route action down the field. Watch him and where he is at once Dak starts his throwing motion. Look at who is there to prevent him from blowing right past his guy and breaking clean in the EZ. Watch the pressure on Dak, he has a clean pocket. He had the time, he had two open guys, one for the First and one for a TD pretty easily if he just stays a little patient and reads the safety.

Seriously guys, the QB reads the plays, it's the QB who has to make the right decisions with where to go with the ball. Lamb on a critical redzone play was the wrong decision and I think it's pretty clear in that clip but you guys decide for yourself.

Lesson learned for the rook.....know where the chains are. There could have been adjustment on the route for that, and then forward progress would have came into play. I thought we removed the JWitt routes....short of the chain.

Hummm, I haven't gone back and looked at the play but I will. If what you say is true it will only piss me off more about Dak wanting to be the highest paid QB. Until he can do Mahomes type ****, he doesn't deserve to get paid.
