Football still rules in the Metroplex.
Not according to my 3 millennial sons and 5 millennial nephews who grew up Cowboys fans but now consider them to be a joke. My 36 year old son was in the 6th grade when the Cowboys last won even a divisional playoff game. Dak Prescott was 2.

The Cowboys continue to be the ugly stepchild of DFW.

This makes 3 trips to the Stanley Cup finals, 2 trips to the World Series, 2 trips to the NBA Finals, and 1 trip to the MLS final....

....since the Cowboys won a divisional round playoff game.

Clinton was president, the internet was a rumor, there was no such thing as a smart phone, and Zeke was in diapers.
Tony Romo was a freshman in HS, Dak was 2, this year’s entire rookie class wasn’t born yet and last years SB MVP Pat Mahomes was 5 months old.

It’s going to be much longer than 25 years. I don't expect to see another in my lifetime. Or in Jethro’s.

It just took Chiefs 50 years to return. That sounds like a reasonable goal for Cowboy fans. The Football Idiot should be gone by then.

Did everybody criticize the Mavericks and Rangers because the Cowboys were good? Just curious because it seems the opposite is true.

The difference is that Dallas will always be Cowboys first. That is the franchise. Mavericks and Stars when they win people sit up and take notice. I'm not going to talk about the Rangers because I don't think that franchise will ever win anything.

Happy for the Stars though. Hope they can win it all.
As a Sharks fan I.....
A) can't stand the Golden Knights :D
B) I am happy for Joe Pavelski. I hope he can finally hold the cup.
I love my Golden Knights! But they deserved bad Karma for the Flower situation. I'll be a Stars fan for the Cup Finals.

It was also the first year of eBay and JavaScript, and it was the year they announced the coming format of DVD movies.

So the last time we played in a conference championship, people were renting VHS tapes from Blockbuster
The internet was a rumor, but eBay was up and running?

This. Sunday night football ratings dropped 28% from last years opening. Perhaps a sign of the times?

I was on the internet in 1995. But I get your point. Just sayin'.

The internet was in its infantile stages and most people had never been on it. That's my point. 16K connection.
I was joking, but honestly, I wouldn't have thought the internet was up yet, off the top of my head. Thinking about it now though, I do remember having an AOL account just a few years after our last SB.

When I was growing up in Dallas in the early 90s, the city had a love affair with the Cowboys. We'd learn Cowboys-themed songs in grade school, thousands would show up to Bill Bates' weekly pep rallies, 60k packed Texas Stadium to send the team off to San Francisco for the '92 NFCCG. Yes, they're still the biggest show in town, but it's not the same man. Trust me on this.

I don’t see how it could be. In the 90s, the team hustled, even when they were bad. Recent teams lack the hustle.

I don’t think it’s coaching. I think it’s an environment Jerry has let calcify.
