It’s one game

I don’t think so. We could have executed better and was hoping our Defense would be ready for the quick pass attack. What’s happened is the rams laid out the blueprint for other teams. But other teams don’t have a donald and our O-Line will get better as time goes on. Our Defense will tighten up and gel sooner than later. We still only came up short by a play or decision from beating a descent team playing a stadium opening game.
I agree, hopefully that's where this new staff will come in and adjust properly, given all that not many teams run the teams style offense or have the weapons too. This week will be a good test vs Gurley and Jones

It’s 1 game this season but that game was a reoccurring theme.

Yup. It's always "it's just one game", or "step back from the ledge". Then we do what we do and it's we'll be all in next year. On the plus side, no way we can lose to Atlanta. I think.

glim, nice try and you are right but you know better than to expect any posters to go "you know, you're right". In fact, they usually get more pissed the next day, today, after they get to see and hear from Booger and the coaches.

I am much more interested to see how they respond against ATL this week than how they played in LA.

I would really have liked to see McC in his post game go "Relax, R E L A X, Relax". He might have even gotten a text form Rodgers after that.

We had some threads welcoming McC in the off season and a could after that game but I don't think even he imagined that his first Must Win game would be his 2nd one.

I want recognition for that too. I worked in Must Win earlier than anyone else and you know it was coming, just not this soon. If he loses to ATL and is headed to SEA, he's going to think GB was a party.

When Mr. State Farm is your starting QB, you can say RELAX.

It would be recurring if all the same staff was in place. Putting what the past staff did on this staff based on 1 game is ridicules. Most knew the opening game was not a cake walk, it was going to be a close game and was a close game. But putting past events on this staff makes no sense.

We need to shore up the run D. Have a feeling it will be quick passes and they have good WR. And a better qb.. Lol.

Only thing I didn’t like was the Offense looked very the same. We didn’t take as many deep shots as I expected. Not until later, good thing is that Dak was on the money. The 4th down pass was a hard pass to make even though it was close range and it was behind and a little low but the lb played it as well as you can. Even if it was dead on I am not sure he makes the first down. Call me a chicken but I take the 3 points and tie there.

I would have liked to have seen a few more deeper balls but I also know Dak was getting pressure and getting the ball out quicker was important. The 4th down play I give credit to the defender who had to get around the pick, I felt Lamb should have ran the rout deeper but play design was not bad. I will say like you I would have taken the 3 and get the game tied up, it may be only 3 but in a close game every point counts and I think it helps keep momentum going as opposed to walking away with 0 points. If we were talking 4th and 1 maybe I go for it but would still be more inclined to take the 3 and get the game tied up.

Take the tie and get the stop and get the ball back with time to get a winning FG. But our kicker who didn’t miss all camp missed a long one and was way off. Lol. Maybe MM didn’t trust him. It’s all coulda woulda shoulda. Neat week maybe a harder game for our Defense..

We will see. I don't think Alt is the same type offense, LA was throwing vast majority of short balls while Alt tends to be more down field passing team which is Ryan takes more sacks that Goff. I do think a big key though is doing a better job vs run but in terms of Alt passing game and that of LA I think they are different and do not expect Alt to change who they are.

I am as mad and upset and disappointed as the rest of you. Waited all offseason and was so pumped all day. And then that happened.

End of first half we started looking better. The second half we just did not pop. The Defense maybe got a little better. But Offense seems to just flounder like always.

Our kicker missed a FG. - But all together our ST was a relief to see better than last year. Nice return. No real injuries.

Our Defense got ran through again. With these big named players we have I was thinking maybe we would come out better. - But they got better after a while and I think they may get much better once it’s figured out. WE GOT A INT!!! We lost LVE for a while. That’s gonna hurt.

Our Offense as I said just flopped around. Dak held the ball a few times longer than he should. He has to start rolling himself out to buy time. Only put 17 points up. Our O-Line sucked on the interior, no other way to put it. - But Elliot looks good and our WR looked pretty good and we will gel. We lost Jarwin and it’s a bigger step down to the next man up. I am not sure how to feel about going for it on 4th down instead of making the game tied. And we had a bad call at the end IMO, we could have won. Typical for us right.

Bottom line is it’s one game and they will get in gear and should do better. We got tore up in the middle by donald but he is a elite player. It happens.

I will be right here rooting again Sunday. Years we lose our first game we make it to the playoffs. If you believe in that kind of thing.. Lol.
Yep, it's only the first game. Unfortunately, it was only the first game for the Rams too. They're quickly becoming a rival.

Was wanting to see us take them apart like last time. That didn’t happen at all. We should be sharper this week.

Hope so. Hopefully MM is a disciplinarian, and doesn't give the team the old, "Well, you did your best." crap.
He will need to be with some of these players. They are used to the country club JJ has set up for them. Wondering if he will make a example of someone being lazy. Speaking of that, I didn’t hear Tristin Hill name all night. Did he play.

It's not just 1 game. It was all supposed to be different. Different schemes, different plays, different attitude, different level of performance and executuion. Yet, everything was exactly the same. Mostly Dak waiting for WRs to get open on comeback routes, huge holes in the DL and wide open spaces all over the field for the other team to exploit, no adjustments to what the other team was doing, no help to a struggling OLineman, no exploiting the other team's weakness, simply nothing different at all. It's not a stretch to say that we may have even won that game if Garrett and his staff was still in place. Somebody please tell me what all the secrecy was about. After watching that game, I have to conclude that they just didn't want everyone to know that they didn't change anything at all. So yeah, it's only 0-1, but it's so much more. The team is still on the same path which is leading nowhere. The wholesale changes we were sold didn't happen which should bother and disgust everyone.
They had no OTA's, no pre season games, and only about 3 weeks of training camp - not much opportunity to revamp everything. The key will be how things progress. Even as disappointing as the loss was, the Cowboys were in it the whole way, and they have more room to go up than a team that is riding on the same coaches and schemes

That worries me some. Maybe to many single players and not enough team. And the runs up the middle. I thought Poe was supposed to handle that stuff. Lol. But we got a pick. So that was exciting.
Poe was one of the disappointments in the game. I focused on him several times and he was slow off the ball. He didn't get blown backward, but he didn't penetrate or shed blockers either. Smaller guys stood him up because they were able to get off the line quicker and initiate the contact.

Great. We get the old worn out Poe. Lol. Was he taking doubles or were they doubling D-Law. He had 1 tackle all night.
