Every year we hear the fan boys say " How will the league defend us. " or "pick your poison" Evry year we hear about how good the Lb's are. They f king cant stay on thge field. Im so sick of S lee .

This teak looks to be in serious trouble if last night is any barometer.
some said we might go undefeated this year ;)

All the media and fanboys want you to believe that you can win with 3 really good WRs and good DEs.

This is not a 7 on 7 league and it’s not madden.

Losing LVE and Jarwin combined with no Collins for now means if you go by position group and grade them:

QB - A-
RB - A
WR - A
TE - D
OL - C
DE - A-
DT - B
LB - D
CB - B
S - D

No team has all A’s across the board but the positions Dallas is bad at, they’re REALLY bad at. There are way too many holes on this team for it to be a contender right now. No Collins kills the offense and terrible LBs means teams can take the middle of the field all day.

When they got the Rams in 3rd and long the DEs had success. But when you don’t have good LBs it’s hard to get them in 3rd and long consistently.

Hopefully the team can stay around 500 til later in the year if LVE and Collins get fully healthy. Jaylon is not good for anything except 3rd and long when they can use him as a missile into the OL like they did on the sack to free up Thomas.
You really think our QB is an A-, and our DTs are a B??

Aldon Smith was the best player on our defense against the Rams. Good for Aldon but bad for all the players we drafted on defense. They should not be playing so poorly that a guy that hasn't played in 5 years sticks out like that.
Mike Nolan has much work to do to fix that.

Mike McCarthy's situational awareness was poor. Do a better job of knowing when they are in a game where every point is precious. Not kicking that FG was the wrong time to be aggressive. Also, expect RT to continue to be a problem until La'el Collins returns.

How did these DTs get a B? Who cares if they had zero sacks and pressures, at least they got our LBs killed!

Those that say you have to coach to your team strengths are taking the easy path.
Great coaches coach to team weaknesses, because all teams have them.
Im not dialing 911 after weak 1, Im waiting to see how this staff deals with and adjusts to the hit we took from week 1,,, then 911 will be on speed dial.

What I find so discouraging is every year we get our hopes up that this will be "The Year". The press always pumps us up. every preseason we are the media darlings. It is without fail.

well watching this team last night tells me what I have known for several years now. The Dallas Cowboys are perpetually just another team who can't get over the hump. year after year they are chasing their tails. So many NFL teams fall into that category. Dallas is just another also ran.

The front office repeatedly makes boneheaded signings on feel good stories like Jaylon and other players who aren't worth half the money they sign them to. And then there's the quarterback. This guy plays like a backup. It's gotten to the point where if they get the ball for the final drive to win the game my whole body just gets numb and I just sit back and can see the inevitable mess play out.

I will always be a dallas fan. It's just a shame to see what's become of this organization.
I used to cry also brother, but I ran out of tears a few years ago, or was that decades?

We were missing not getting burned for big plays

The hate on defense after the 1st game is unreal!!! Only reason dallas was in that game was because of the mistakes by the rams and the dallas defense!! 100 facts not debatable!

No reason we are the most hated fanbase in the nfl!!! Most of our fans know nothing about football lmao what a joke!!

I don't know if that's aimed at me other other people.
My response was back to the original poster as we would obviously be a better football team with an All Pro Corner in Byron Jones who in my opinion, should have been kept.
I agree that the Dallas defense played well in the second half and have stated that elsewhere.

Diggs is every bit as good as jones, and will become much better. He was in position several times and was actually playing the ball....in his first game as a rookie. Something jones didn't do in his 4 years here. The problems with this defense is not CB1.

I would rather have Jones and Diggs. So Goff threw two perfect passes? Strange as most people on here consider him to be a scrub.

Yea, amazing how well Goff performed without the best touted receiving corps, top RB and 2 All Pro OL.

Flip our QB’s and the game isn’t close.

well, you were close: flip the coaches and the game isn’t close.

For the 1,000th time in this thread, this is NOT 1st game grades. It’s the overall talent level. I think Poe as a 1T is much better than he played and I believe Crawford as a 3T has always been his best position.

Do we win that game with Mcvay?

He had the perfect answer to our pass rush with that dink and dunk game plan. Too bad we couldn't find a remedy.

What I fear now is that every team we play from now on will make sure to do the same thing. Not a pretty picture...

I doubt Crawford has a good position -- it's more like his positions are both mediocre. His best performances are in the locker room.

My comment had nothing to do with game 1. What evidence is there to support the belief that Dak is an A talent, or that cast of scrubs at DT are a B? I agree with most everything in your original post, but those 2 rankings leave me baffled.

That deep ball to Jefferson over Diggs was perfect. Still, Diggs was a fingernail from that ball. I would take Goff over Dak.

While it would've been nice to have jones and diggs as starting CBS, the fact is you can't pay everyone and jones isn't worth the amount he commanded on the open market.
