I think MM made some valid points about what happened on that interference call. It could just as easily have been not called.

Easy to see in replay but in real time and with ramsey's sell job it was correct. That's what the ref saw, arm extended, ramsey sold him on desperation so it looked legit to him.

The key is to hurt his feelings so bad he cries to the mods that you’re being mean. It’s fun for all.

LOL. Another sideline ***** I've destroyed in the past playing the role of teeny bopper fanboi. Maybe Kaiser will like your post and you can like his so you both can feel good about your internet accomplishments.

I don't know if this has been mentioned earlier in this thread since I didn't go through all 14 pages. But wouldn't you think the ref would take a peek at the replay before making a stupid comment like that?

Yep, out schemed and lost in the trenches ultimately but game was close regardless.
That's all well and good. You think a team that "Lost in trenches and outschemed" never won a football game?

If we lose it for ourselves fine...I don't expect the refs to lose it for us and excused just because we played poorly.

Was the call technically by the written letter of the rule book correct?

Yes, but you dont call that with the game on the line. Its like calling a foul in an NBA game because your pinky touched the shoulder of a guy taking a jump shot in a tied game with 2 seconds left. Yes, technically it is a foul but you dont decide a game at the free throw line.

Thats my take on it..................was a tick tack call that while probably correct by the rule book should never be called in that situation.

The thing is that call is hardly ever made even at other times. We see that back and forth so often. It's NFL football. Men fighting for a ball and no overt action.

My proof is that the official never threw the flag..UNTIL...he saw gallup caught the ball.

Bottom line:

There was contact from both players. Gallup had a right to free his arm because Ramsey clearly has his hand on Gallup's shoulder and his arm attempting to pin Gallup's arm. The refs in theory could have flagged Ramsey for Holding or PI (depending on if the ball was in the air, which I believe it was). If you don't make the call on Ramsey (which they didn't), then it should have been a "play on", due to hand-checking on both sides. This was not a blatant foul either way (and quite often not called), so considering the import of the moment the official should have eaten his flag instead of throwing it. As I've said before, Ramsey's flop was the deciding factor in making the call and that should have been flagged (unsportsmanlike conduct) if the play was replay eligible.

Ref didn't throw the flag upon contact. He threw the flag after he saw it was a reception. That's what tells me it was bogus.

Hand contact from both players is one thing. Pushing off is another. I can see why the penalty was called. That being said, the NFL is a shell of it's former self with regard to "letting the players play." How anyone is surprised is beyond me.

There was NEVER a "push off". Gallup was able to free up his hand from the arm bar for the reception. And Ramsey flopped backward. Plain as day.

.... I....NEVER said Gallup never pushed off.

But you keep arguing this notion that I said Gallup never pushed off...no such thing happened ever.

The replay showed this:

And this:

Those seem to support what the official say, don't you think?

I think this is one of those calls that even if you had the replay you may not get it overturned just because he did push off. Was he getting away from the arm bar - yes but I am not sure it even gets overturned.

My theory always is that whoever initiates the arm contact should never get a call but that is not the rules!

Watch this video.

Yes, and? Did you not see that arm extension at real speed? The slow motion of the same thing illustrated it even better. Combined with what I posted, are you seriously doubting why a flag was thrown?

Nope. Watch it at normal speed. It's quite obvious.

I invite you all to face the wall in front of you. Now reach backwards with your palm facing down while continuing to face your torso toward the wall. Invite a small child or baby bird to stand behind you and see if you can budge either with the tops of your fingers. No? Can't do it? Well Mikey Gallup did it to a 210lb man that was leaning into him while giving him an arm bar at the same time.

IMO his act came after the fact, making it an act. I saw Gallup's arm extended. But there shouldn't have been a delayed reaction. If you push someone it happens as you're pushing them. Not after the fact.

This is why the video I posted stops before Ramsey's acting so you see the push and the actual effect it had. Look at Gallup flick his wrist on Ramsey's chest. People are getting distracted by the acting and are ignoring that there was a full extension shove by Gallup.

Ramsey is slanted and then gets stood up by the push.
