Eric Reid isn't on any team because of reasons that are easy to find but can't be posted here.

Earl Thomas is past his prime and a major pain. So much for that feeding frenzy some expected for him. :muttley:

Like I said above.....this team has Dontari Poe on it and had Robert Quinn and Michael Bennett on it last year......that's irrelevant it seems. Earl has to be better than what we have. He was last time we saw him.

And Logan Thomas is a QB that plays TE but it doesn't mean you can't be good at it.
And I like Carr. If he's the guy so be it. I wouldn't fight it I didn't even hear they wanted him to play safety I thought it was corner.

Another note....I did not know that as the same Logan Thomas who use to play quarterback for the Cardinals...I thought he was out of the league. Good for him on the position switch.

I can't really attest to how good he was as a Raven, but they did use him at safety more than corner I believe (at least last year.)

Pretty cool, right? I think he had a touchdown catch from Haskins on Sunday.

I saw him on Sunday I just did not make the connection at all. Maybe they even said it on the telecast and just wasn't listening. Wow. He looked like a natural tight end out there.

Makes me wonder if we could get similar things out of Blake Bell. Same size, almost the same age, both 4th round picks, both converted from QB in college to TE in the pros.

If we are being truthful with ourselves.......Eric Reid should be on this team over what we currently have. I'd prefer Earl but Reid doesn't fight his teammates ands shown throughout his career he can play some linebacker and safety like he did in San Fran. He can also play the run well.
Respectfully, since we can't talk about politics of any sort, please stop pushing Eric Reid. I will much prefer to bring in Earl Thomas to play safety, a position where the Cowboys currently suck!

Like I stated above...you guys keep making it about politics but Jerry and co. have shown that hasn't stopped them from signing Michael Bennett, Robert Quinn and Dontari Poe....and we know Michael Bennett is far more vocal than anyone.

Seems like time has vindicated Reid's position and seeing it as a "disruption" is probably inaccurate in 2020.

Dunno, Reid is a solid #1 for that discussion that we can't have on here imo.
Former teammate of #7, very vocal about stuff we can't talk about etc...

We just don't view the safety spot that highly.

Day 1 or 2 of the draft? ****. Day 3? Rich, but it could do? UDFA? Priced right!

It's funny, on the several plays I've watched Earl Thomas play over the last few years, he tackles better than the current crop of LB's. If they're taking a chance on any player, I'd say bring him in.

To be fair, you said the team wasn't going to sign anyone worthwhile. You didn't limit your comment to certain positions.

Fair point, but that's what I meant.....with that said, I still don't feel veldheer is someone worthwhile lol..at least not at this point in his career

Is Eric Reid that much better TODAY than Brandon Carr? Probably not.

AFAIK, Reid's problem is medical and he has never had the operation believed to be needed. I wanted him here last year. But Jerry passed. And Jerry takes medical risk. The risk must be considered too great.

Similarly, the personal risk on Thomas must be considered too great. They should have a clear idea what Thomas is from Carr. I heard a report that they haven't even called Thomas. Sounds like they're just not interested.

Pretty sure the title of the thread said TE, S, LBs which is what I was referencing....Does Velhdeer play those positions?

Pretty sure the title of the thread doesn't have to do with "not bringing in anyone worthwhile".

Unless you're trying to insinuate that you knew they would only call up practice sqauders for the three listed positions, but not any other position. Which is just silly lol.

*Sigh*.....dude, if the topic of discussion is in reference to a certain position, and someone says, "they won't sign anyone good", why would you think that's a blanket statement for all other positions on the team?

Would you feel better if I said "anyone worthwhile for those positions named in the title of the thread" lol

Guy mentioned 3 positions, I said nothing worthwhile but practice squad because we literally just signed two people from practice squads at two of these positions....it's really not that complicated

I would agree that he isn't worthwhile as a guy you would count on for a season, but as a guy that can step in and play a few games to plug in for an injured player he may be miles above Steele.
