Does the season already hinge on this weekend?

If the Cowboys fail to beat he Falcons on Sunday, that means they could be looking squarely at 0-3 with a trip to Seattle looming right after.

That would mean the Cowboys would be 2-7 in their last nine games, already with 4 of those games under 17 points scored and counting.

Yes, this is the most embarrassingly bad division in the NFL, so i know they'd still be alive in the East. But anything meaningful might already be lost for this season as they scramble for a 8-8 season from there.

If that transpires, it might be best for Dallas to start looking hard in the mirror as to what they are and what they need to do.

This team needs a convincing outcome on Sunday.

I realize Collins is out of shape and will return. I know Lee and Vander Esch and Gregory and Carr will be here soon. "Help" is on the way.

But I also know that other injuries are coming, too. It's never going to be all hands on deck for any length of time in the NFL.

Time for less hype and more quality of play.

its the cowboys, every weekend is the season with our fan base!

In reality, if we lose this one were probably starting out 0-3

In a good division it would but since this is the NFC least now they could actually get away with and 0-2 start. That being said it’s still an important game early in the season. It’s not season on the line important.

Who cares about winning the East and going to slaughter in the wild card or divisional round? Right now, real contending teams are three touchdowns better than Dallas.

Every offseason, we hear our name as this big contender. Then the season starts, and we fail to beat a single playoff team like last year (the Eagles don't count after what happened in the final game.) We can't even break 20 points in half of our last 7 games. Beating up on the Giants and Commanders is meaningless.

Here's the ugly truth. The Rams will finish last, quite possibly, in their division. Their defense is average at best. Their quarterback is mediocre at best. They are an average football team.

And score aside, that game Sunday looked like a 28-7 trouncing much of the game. How Dallas held them to 20 points was a miracle.

A loss this weekend, and the state of mind of the team could implode, and the Seahawks may beat them by 30.

Technically it's not over but it puts them behind two NFC teams in the chase for a playoff spot. Most likely a wildcard from those teams which makes it even worse if Dallas is in the hunt for a wild card. Losing to the falcons would be a serious blow to the Cowboys.

The answer is no.

Major play calling changes are necessary in order for this team to reach its potential on offense.

i dont know. It sure feels like they are about to go 0-3 to me. Then they are going to be in this incredibly difficult situation of having to beat the browns who are normally a dumpster fire and still could be but I kind of think they are going to beat the bengals tomorrow and washington next week.

imagine the 2-1 browns coming in here and beating the 0-3 cowboys setting up the Toilet Bowl with the giants.

This is early 00's jerry picking the players in salary cap hell with Dave Campo as head coach level stuff if so.

For the 1st time in NFL history every team from a division could make the playoffs . And the NFC West would be the most likely candidate. We will probably lose every game to that division.

I actually see us bouncing back Sunday as we usually perform better against lesser teams. But if we dont the season could spiral quickly heading to Seattle.

The last time we started 0-2 was 2010 which didn’t end well.

... I would say it doesn't, but you don't want to be in a hole so early in season either. Winning 1 game of the next 2, is a must for positive mental momentum.
