I don't think that's an excuse..

Brady was a 6th round pick for a reason..

Wilson 3rd round for a reason.

If they had a draft re-do all of those guys would be 1st round picks including Dak.

Dak just needs to make plays and he needs to do it against teams that aren't terrible.

Atlanta is a team he should do well against.
Would you call this a "make a play" killing play?

I haven't changed in my opinion of Dak. Like him for 25 mil, don't for 40 mil.

There was nothing I saw Sunday that says otherwise. To win w/ Dak, you need a good D. Which means you need to start putting major resources toward it. Which means 40 mil is a no.
Exactly the point made by most Dak critics . He is not bad , but he is not a difference maker to command more than 20-25 mil by any stretch. It will be a huge waste with the holes this team has . But many don’t want to listen to this logic .

No, you cannot pay them whatever they want.

That 20 mil we spent on Cooper would've been much better spent on DJ Reader at 13.5 mil/season. All those receivers didn't help in the 4th quarter when our DLine was getting owned as LA waltzed up and down the field completely owning TOP.
Lots of wasted cap money on DLaw , Cooper , and others . Dak cap hit at 31 mil further impacts the cap as well .

Hes not a good QB

Average at best. Sadly, his stans are going to learn the hard way.

5-9 in his last 14 games
63%
4248 yds
22Tds
9 int
94 rating
1-6 vs teams that made the 2019 playoffs
In those games, here are his stats:
63%
2154
8tds
8ints
84 rating

Those numbers sadly include all the stat-padding at the end of the Packers and Bills games

Yea Romo didnt have a stellar record against winning teams (teams that made the playoffs that season), but he played significantly better than Dak did in those games

Romo’s last 8-8 season (2013) vs playoff teams:
64%
1853 yds
12 TDs
5 ints
96.33 rating
1-5 record

So its evident Romo actually played well in these games but was let down by a historic woat defense (worst in Cowboys history) and bad coaching.
This was also with a rookie TFred, No Zack Martin and No Zeke

Romo also gave the team leads late in games only to have the defense give the game up. in 09 alone it happened vs NY twice! and San Diego. Drove the team into field goal range in 11 after austin missed the ball in the lights on the previous drive and baileys kick was blocked. 2010 it happened vs the Titans ( he was sacked 6 times in the first half) and still had a great day.... at minnesota had the lead late and the defense gave it up.. They were up double digits on the giants driving when he had his collarbone broken vs NY (thanks gronkowski)

2011 at new england. Dallas has the lead and they let brady go down the field and score as time runs out to beat Dallas. Dallas was playing with two guys on the line who would soon be out of the league and their third string running back and they were winning with under 1 minute to go at fox borough where no one won at the time.

2012 Romo leads them down the field and Dez cant make the catch in the end zone at Baltimore. week 16 vs the saints the defense gives up the game late to Brees, Romo goes back down and on 4th down hits austin for a TD to go to OT. Dallas gets stopped on third down and the saints drive 72 yards to kick a field goal and win.

2013 at kansas city that second to last drive Just missed the throw to dez...got the ball back got stopped kicked a field goal and lost.

2011 they give up a kick return then get a punt blocked in the end zone accounting for 14 points at arizona.

people always like to forget these types of things because they are obsessed with hating Romo a guy who retired 4 years ago to prop up you know who..

Also the fact that this type of stat is foolish. There are a whole bunch of teams from 06 -15 that Romo beat that finished 8-8 or 7-9 and would have had winning records had they not lost to Dallas. Romo played without a running game for the majority of 11 and 12 while they rebuilt the offensive line.

anyway. I try never to get into this topic but I couldn't help myself. The guy is hated by so many and even those who pretended to like him late in his career just like to tear him down to prop up the other guy. The other guy has been treated like a hero since day one and has played with almost no scrutiny comparatively and has never been through a rebuild or lacked a running game.

This is flawed...to win every QB needs a good D. Or, at least a D good enough to make stops when it counts.

Wentz got $34 a year. Why haven't the Eagles built a formidable team around Wentz? Its way less than $40M and cap has increased since?

Why? Because cap Hell or constraints is a cheap owner and lazy GM trope...

We just reworked DLaw and Zack yep...Cap Hell!!

When it counted Romo threw a Medicine Ball to Terry Glenn that RW McQuarters nullified... Tony on the best team and 2nd best Coach he ever had...

We were laughing because the "Carrying a team myth" died on the 4th sack.

Dak, at least "carried" Connor Williams, Steele and Looney out of 2-3 more sacks from Aaron Donald with off script passes and runs...

Wentz got sacked 8 times, but apparently it’s his fault... So which is it?

Doug is an idiot. Did he not see the perfect tear drop pass to Gallup at the end of the game? The refs stole that from us. We allowed the refs to affect the outcome. Dak was not the problem. The defense was.

Apparently the refs stole it from the Cowboys, though Gallup extended his arm and Goff got hit in the face by Aldon Smith, which led to the INT, but they didn’t call a penalty..

The Dak excusess have to end .

No crowd noise
No jason garrett
Zeke played
Cooper played
cee Dee played
OL was there

the only constant is Dak in another loss , and a miserable 2nd half and at crucial times

There's plenty of excuses, McCarthy is already blaming the O-Line

What a garbage throw... Sat in the zone throws it away from his body at the right shoulder, where the DB is actually coming to Dalton... Mediocre QB...

Now it’s a back-up TEs fault for this fifth year Qb..
What a garbage Dak Hater assessment...

Dak threw away from the Defender whom was covering Shultz to the left..Dak also had to slide to avoid traffic from pocket

Dak pass perfect to Shultz, whom had time to catch and go down for 1st Down.

Dak Haters are Football Flacid

So you think Dak is a Top 5 QB?

Exactly. I don’t need rollouts on every play but give me 15 a game. Make the defense have to do more planning than either stopping runs up the middle and expecting Dal to be standing 5 yards deep in the same spot every play.

Im kind of in this boat. I don’t think Dak is elite. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like him. I like him as a leader and his ability to avoid sacks and run etc. He’s got some attributes. But he also misses big plays...in this game he had a nice WR crossing for a big gain and could have let go but pulled it down for the sack. Have to pull the trigger. With all that said we watched them run hurry up before half, spread the field and look good. The second half we started running Zeke into their teeth, took out Pollard snd didn’t use our 3 stud WRs. I’m not saying this offense has to be built for Dak but it should be built for our weapons. You can’t stick Dak in a pocket on 3rd and mid to long and expect wins. You have to use what you have. He’s not elite but try and mitigate the negatives at least
