It's all about expectations and a lack of respect for the Rams. They've got just as good, better on D, talent as the Cowboys and a damned good HC. Those were two evenly matched teams but some can't accept that.

Accept the blame yourselves if you thought this team was going to come roaring out of the gate. You thought they were better but it's their fault and all of the these coaches and players should be jettisoned?

You whiners need to manage your own expectations and this team has nothing to do with the last 25 years. I get it and understand there needs to be some venting over a loss but that becomes whining by Wednesday.

Hell, if some of you are this whacked out after one game, why do you even follow this team? This is football. The Eagles, Niners, Bucs and Vikings fans were disappointed and probably expected a win too. As fans, we are not owed a damned thing. They played hard but the other team was just a little better, get over yourself.

As fans we're not owed anything for our money and time?

Jerry is so glad to have you.

I have seen them as well, McCarthy or any HC deserves more than 1 game, to see some of the reaction is amazing.

Agreed but that's putting it mildly, imho . . . to me it reeks of being downright pathetic!

I have to put it mildly, this is a family oriented sight and we clearly know there are children here so we must watch our language. lol

Just be prepared for 5-11 and you will not be upset when we start 0-3 bc it’s expected.
I don't prepare for anything. I believe there is a reason they play games, and even if odds are long the underdog will sometimes play well and win. I couldn't imagine being a sports fan and being prepared to give up on a season before it barely starts, That's contrary to the very purpose and nature of athletic competition, which, at it's core, is the effort to overcome obstacles and opposition. If a person doesn't believe in that, what's the point of being a sports fan? And, realistically, I don't see long odds in upcoming games. I just see some tough opponents, but ones we should be able to compete with.

Disappointing game Sunday, no doubt …

And so far on this site we have had calls to bench Dak, fire Kellen Moore and trade Jaylon Smith & D-Law (while there is still a chance!).

And there have been threads started expressing disappointment that Lamb and Zeke didn't do more (even though both had good games - especially Zeke), and some have indicated they have given up on McCarthy and/or the team.

Again, disappointing game, and of course we would like to have seen more changes in the offense, and a more stingy defense, and more from a few players, but let's not get hysterical. It's still just one game, and one that came after a coaching change, no OTAs and a very short training camp with no preseason games to help implement changes.

Maybe the team will suck this year, or maybe pull together and get into the playoffs, or maybe even do well in the playoffs. What's certain though is time will be what tells, not one game.

I'm not sure there was a thread dedicated to Jaylon, but I did see some calls to trade him.
I'll be honest with you: I've been rooting for Jaylon this whole time, but watching this game, he was awful. I truly don't know if he stayed on his feet for a single play. Every time I saw him, he was either getting up or getting knocked down. I really hope he improves, because that was hard to watch.

He clearly isn't an inside LB in my mind. I think he can play outside, but if he has to fight through traffic in the middle he either backs away from the contact and gives up yardage trying to go around the blockers, or he takes the contact and gets pushed away from the play. He is not a strong anchor in the mddle.

Some watch their team play: some watch their team to see them win. That latter group has always applied to Cowboys fans than any other fans. Do you see the Browns, Lions or Skins fans whining about 25 years? The Browns and Lions fans would love just 1 of the Cowboys 5 rings and would settle for just 1 of the 8 trips.

Too many Cowboys fans think their team belongs there.

Rams had the same challenges.

They were well prepared for the game.

Cant say the same about our team.

We also played a team that has had there star players and staff and in a home opening stadium environment. They have donald.

We did ourselves no favors by playing vanilla. We never rolled Dak out. We played simple stuff to gel and was really a bad call (IMO) at the end by the refs and a wrong decision by MM from winning or going to OT.

Now if it’s the same stuff this weekend with no progress or wrinkles starting then I will start to worry a little more. I will give them this game.

Yeah this place seemed worse than usual.

Improve upon the Rams game.

Win Sunday, and my thoughts will be the same, give it a few more games, improve upon what you did in the Atlanta game.
Though the defense is still a big concern. With the injuries and lack of depth as well as the OL. But will see the adjustments. It will still take a few more games.

I think this game will be a shoot out.
Simple....many of us were hoping for drastic change and all we saw was more of the same.

They had high hopes against their fears of failure and then immediate failure happened. This is why you see fans talking down the team's chances. Because they're now afraid to have the team do well lest they get hopeful again. Same mechanism that drives CONSPIRACY! Can't accept a loss, so create a boogeyman. I have to admit, Goodell does make a good boogeyman. Not sure how Mara got in the mix, but psychosis is creative at times, lol.

Very poor taste in the fan's mouths coming off last season. It wasn't just the underachievement of last season that sucked but the fact that so many of the players on the team came off unlikeable. Fast forward to this season, we remove one of the biggest cancers in Garrett, I think a lot of fans expected to see a different "style" of team on Sunday. They looked the same - poor special teams, poor RZ offense, poor 3rd down defense, no clutch gene, highly-paid players not showing up. We checked almost all the boxes of a Jason Garrett team. So fans are at their wits' end at this point.

If somebody is at their wits' end after one loss by 3 pts, maybe they'd better find some other team to root for. I've been used to the 70's winning teams and the 90's winning teams, sure the last 20 years or so is not like those eras, but if it bothers anyone that much, for the sake of their emotional health if nothing else they'd be better off becoming Chiefs or Ravens fans...

Losses are acceptable....

Me personally? I was shocked at the lack of fire on defense or changes on offense.

It's not a matter of losing the game, I'm wondering exactly how much change, if any, has happened here.

If none, that's a problem.

If so, did we not think the first game counted?

Edit.....I actually picked them to lose btw. Its definitely not the one game that's bugging me.

He has never regained his form that injury in the bowl game and doesn't want to use that as an excuse but I watched him a lot at ND and he was special, there was talk of some teams trading up to take him 1st overall and many felt he was the best player in college ball....until that injury.

Runny, the kid could fly. He would make a tackle for a loss, get a sack or cover and prevent a completion to a WR on the same drive. He wasn't just a sideline to sideline player, he was a line of scrimmage to the end zone player as well.

They took a chance and then chased that with a 2nd contract and he can be a good LB as long as you can put great ones on the D with him. But if they're counting on him being their best LB, not going to happen.
