Any of those happen in our favor and we win or went to OT at worst. We left 6 to 10 points on the field not to mention the at least FG attempt at the end if Gallup’s catch was good.

Sure, my first reaction was to go for the FG. But it was only four minutes into the fourth quarter, there was plenty of time left even if it worked out to be a 3 point game.

Instead of (yet another) tantrum, you could post the differences in the Rams offense this year. I'll wait.

You're the guy throwing the tantrum, don;t try to project your inadequacies onto anyone else.

You posted false information as an excuse, got called out for it, and now are crying because you don;t like it and cant handle it. Your issues, not anyone else's.

Here's the first part you got wrong:

https://www.therams.com/team/coaches-roster/#:~:text=Kevin O'Connell enters his,16, 2020.

Kevin O’Connell enters his first year as offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams after being hired by the team on Jan. 16, 2020.

So, the Cowboys actually have the advantage - according to your own criteria - in that offensive coordinator Kellen Moore has been here for two years.

Feel free to get butthurt once again because it contradicts your latest batch of excuses.

How about your other false claims about the defense?

You going to continue to try to pretend that didn't happen too? I'm not.

It was gutsy and MM was trying to show confidence and be aggressive and take the game over. But down by 3 in the 4th at any time you tie the game. Stop them and go for the game winner.

Would have been tied and if they did score you had time anyways.

And what changed in the Rams offense this year? In all that potbanging I missed your answer. I'll wait.

The Rams didn't hire a new offensive coordinator, they hired A offensive coordinator. There wasn't one on their staff the previous 2 seasons. Kevin O'Connell is an offensive coordinator in name only, he was brought in specifically to be a QB coach to Goff. You'll notice they don't have a QB coach on their current staff. They run McVay's and McVay's offense only. I don't know what any of it matters though, they manhandled the Cowboys defense regardless of who was running the offense. It was a pathetic display that goes way deeper than a lack of preseason games. That said, it was McCarthy's first game and he'll need multiple seasons not games to fix the mess he fielded on Sunday.

I thought McVey was still calling plays. Is that correct?

I hold these truths to be self-evident, haterzz..

There were two keys to this game, the Rams Offensive Line and the lack of preseason games.

The Rams OL executed extremely well and their ability to sustain long drives was most of the reason for the Rams win. That was 80% of this game, even if fans want to use this game as a Rorschach test for their pet issue like coaching, Dak, DLaw, etc.

You can see a big difference in our defense playing what is essentially its first preseason game and the Rams team that has been in the same scheme offensively and defensively for four years now. That offense was considered ubergenius two years ago and Dallas is still putting their defensive pieces together. The Dallas Defense got worked early, adjusted and then played OK in the second half. Both OL and DL need reps to execute well and they don’t have it yet. Its not an excuse, but it was a factor.

CeeDee Lamb and Trevon Diggs look like third year players in the first NFL snaps, which tells you both guys could play in a Pro Bowl at some point. I still believe if Lamb was gone and we drafted Diggs in the 1st, then everyone after that one round higher we still would have had an excellent draft.

If you watch the game again, Aldon Smith actually played the run better than his pass rush plays. Clear indication of the spectacular physical talent he has and the potential he has when he settles into his role mentally. It also means Everson Griffen is the best backup DE in the Milky Way Galaxy.

Trysten Hill showed the physical skills to be a very good player, he still needs time but he will be starting by the end of the season IMO. He played 44 snaps to 46 for Tyrone Crawford. Antwuan Woods looked good playing 29 snaps (Gallimore 6) backing up Dontari Poe and our DL depth will be a big advantage over the course of the season. Both in depth, settling into the new scheme and being able to mix and match assignments based on opponents.

I would have kicked the FG on the 4th and 3 but I like the aggressiveness in the call. With a little more experience Lamb will get beyond the marker every time and it took a great play from the DB to stop him short. The thing about that call is that the play will convert 3 times out of 4 and for that play, Lamb has the RAC ability that he will break a big gain on it one time out of four. It didn’t work out, but its not the reason we lost.

On draft day I wanted Ramsey over Zeke but I was wrong. I’m still wrong, both are elite players but Zeke will win more games for you.

The Rams will have paid Jared Goff $81 Million dollars through this season and to acquire him they traded two #1 picks (in the top ten), two #2s and two #3s. Dallas will have paid Dak $35 Million over the same period after drafting him in the 4th round. And Dak played better.

I was going to post this thread on Thursday but Sean McVay called a time out and the refs gave it to him. That was a 3 point swing in a three point game by the way.
the offense the rams were running was new to them according to jimmy. So your top excuse isnt very good.
Dallas is not a new team, just a few new players that every team has, and it was obvious they didnt change their offense.

It is correct and he had a good game plan. He eliminated the Cowboys vaunted pass rush by simply dinking and dunking while running it down their throats and controlling the clock. Reminded me a lot (and it was mentioned during the game) of a Bill Parcells run offense that was genius in it's simplicity.

I would if I was wrong, that how it works. If I'm right, I don't do that.

The Rams offense has been McVay's for four years, perhaps you missed the entire league throwing rose pedals at his feet two years ago. If the Rams hire a new OC its still McVay's offense. If the Saints hire a new OC its still Sean Payton's, if the Patriots hire a new DC its still Belichick calling the shots.

actually he hired Kevin O'Connell and he is the coordinator but McVay calls the plays. O'connell's offense was different than mcvays but in the same family if you will. Mcvay is in charge.

They hired a new DC and put in a new defense and had a new ST coordinator also.

The Rams had no preseason before the game either. Both teams had the same offense and same play caller and both put in a new defense and had a new st coach. Why would a lack of preseason hurt Dallas and not the rams?

The Rams have better players at key positions than Dallas on Defense, and some on offense.

They are a better team right now.

There is your ballgame. Oh, and the Rams had just as many pre season games as Dallas.

The Rams have a new OC, DC, and ST coach. All outside hires. I'll give you the offensive scheme being the same, but the defense has a brand new coordinator and philosophy. They're essentially in the same boat we are in: Same offense, different defense.

I'm willing to bet that the new DC looked at our film on our offense and made some adjustments. They sniffed out the 4th down play to Lamb and knew that was coming.

Secondly, that 3rd downplay to Cooper where he dropped the ball, Ramsey let his man go and took on Cooper, which caused him to drop the ball.

Our offense was predictable and easy to defend against. Add in Donald and Ramsey to that defense, and it's still a very good defense compared to what we have.

The Rams have run the same offense for four years, Dallas kept Kellen Moore but he was the only coach that held over from last year. Dallas had a lot of changes and no "live fire" to take reps and build cohesion. The Rams offense did, and it jumped out early and controlled the time of possession 36 minutes to 24.

McVay knows it is real easy to Cowboys LBs headed in the wrong direction. It paid big dividends again on Sunday night. That was one of the big differences in the game.
