Today was such a horribly coached game, and this isn’t a compliment to this staff, but just curious what everyone thinks would have happened if JG was coach..based on been there done that, under JG there were several awful performances followed by great comebacks always fo fall short with the moral victory nonsense

The Cowboys overcame a 21 point deficit to beat the Rams 34-31 in 2014. Guess who was the coach then.

McCarthy made as many dumb decisions today as JG ever made. The players won in spite of them rather than because of him.

I doubt it. JG had hard time winning games with key starters out. We had 3 starters on offense out in this game.

true but in the end it was Zuerlein and the onside kick idea that won the game. Garrett would have never prioritized Zuerlein and our special teams coach would have stayed the same.

What did McCarthy do that was so brilliant that Garrett couldn't have done?

If you read my post, I never actually gave credit to the coaching staff for anything, flat out said they were terrible..my question was would they have won the game with JG as coach, seemed like there were many comebacks with him as coach but something would always back fire at the end to still get the L, that didn’t happen today..

I wise individual said this after JG's firing:

Garrett’s inability to adjust doomed him

Garrett was great at devising game plans to suit the pieces he had. But when dynamic variables were added to the mix, his effectiveness nosedived. The often robotic head coach struggled to deviate from his blueprints when opponents presented unforeseen challenges that forced him into uncomfortable situations.

and..

I would simply add JG would have folded like a
