Good coaches don't make drastic changes to the scheme and alienate what players do best. Especially, during a pandemic and limited training.

That's true too, but Dlaw played in the same system last year and managed 5 sacks. So it may not just be a system issue either. Really hoping he turns up his impact soon. The contract we gave suggests he should be able to roll out of bed and get 10+ sacks a season. Always felt that way with Ware until his body started breaking down after 9 seasons. But at this point Lawrence doesn't look anything like a generational player the last 18ish games. A good player yes.

I'm not siding with Dlaw. I don't think he deserves that contract. Wish that the Cowboys would just traded him.

But I'm certainly worried about the new scheme that Nolan has brought in. I think it sucks. He doesn't have the right pieces together and because of the pandemic is going to fail miserably.

HE GOT HIS JERRY BUCKS and then got lazy. He lost his edge and hunger. This has been brewing since 2019. He held the team hostage selfishly during his contract deal...and I wont dive back into that, but he showed who he was then, and still is now. He's done. He got paid and he is just satisfied with being ok.He is very immature and has no business being a captain or starting. At this point I RATHER see Griffen in his spot or even some Anae. That kid will ball.

I'm for seeing how Anae can do in his spot.

Lawrence stats before and after signing HUGE contract:

2017-2018 (2 seasons before contract) 32 Games 122 Tackles 25 Sacks 6 FF 3 FR 1 INT 2 PDef

2019-2020 (entering 2nd season since signing contract) 18 Games 51 Tackles 5 Sacks 2 FF 2 FR 3 PDef

Can you tell if someone played for the money, got the money, and now does not care?

I can appreciate DLaw making the first two tackles of the game. If #90 is out, good thing thing edge is loaded with depth. Anae got in and looked ok rushing the passer.

Not concerned DLaw just needs to get healthy, but they shouldn't miss a beat.

Chido is a bigger issue considering AB is on IR and Lewis is just getting back into form and took a beat down Sunday.

Worley, Diggs n Lewis...with Carr n Goodwin backing up. Would've been cool if all those ppl telling me Reggie Robinson was a baller was right.
Chido is dumpster juice with a hint of potpourri, he's stiff, football dumb, and gives up too much ground for a starting CB. He's only sparingly serviceable when the Dline is dominant. He's a jag and we need a high round upgrade ASAP.

I like to analyze evidence but 32 games vs 18 games is like fixing the fight don't you think....

Good DE's get more than 5 sacks a season.

Usually, but you also need to factor in pressures, run defense, etc. How would you describe a player like Greg Ellis? I would say he was a good player, not a great one. Lawrence's current career trajectory puts him closer to Ellis than Ware.
