I was bummed in the off season to see we had released him. Guy has a cool story and I had said to my wife it was a huge mistake. Now I just seen him do a strip sack in week 2 on the Bears. This guy has talent and drive. should have kept him!

I don't think he would be that great in this type of D, not at first and with no off season or PS games, it will take a bit to go from a 3 point to a 2 point stance, as we are seeing with DLaw.. so I don't think that keeping him would have made much of a difference.

After not playing against the lions,he had one sack and FF against the giants on the first play.
and one got one tackle the rest of the game

Aldon Smith (the most probable replacement) in two games has 15 tackles, 7 solo, and one sack

and we got him at a cheaper price. Now i'm all for pretending like we let great players walk out the door, but Robert Quinn is not the reason our defense sucks. Maybe you missed it, but our defense sucked last year too. He is what he is at this point, an overpaid decent sack artist.

Loved Quinn but he was replaced pretty well by Smith and Griffen

He was a huge reason we couldn't stop the run last year. Good player but not worth the money he got

With Gregory coming back, it’s good we let him go. They’re basically the same player.

He got paid big bucks, we couldn't afford him. That and he sold out the run for sacks so he could get that fat contract.

He's a one trick pony.
quinn played the same way with the rams also. always wanting sacks and not playing the run well. i wish he we had on the passrushing downs right now because i do not see any of our passrushers doing anything in the first two games.

He was great rushing the passer. He was equally awful defending the run. Hard to justify the monetary investment into a guy who is a liability against the run.

We didn't release him. He was a free agent, and free to negotiate with any team he wanted. We just didn't compete for him at the price tag he was able to get elsewhere.

Griffen's sack against Atlanta was huge. Granted, it was because of coverage and Ryan not wanting to force a throw, but it helped us get the ball back in plenty of time for the TD and FG.

The Rams would have run for 250 yards blocking Quinn with a TE.
