The 1st Half Stats were almost even except for the 4 turnovers
(3 fumbles plus failed 4th down try on ST)
The turnovers and resulting short field directly attributed to the points difference.

1st Half
Points
Cowboys 10
Falcons 29

Total Yards
Cowboys 204
Falcons 226

1st Downs
Cowboys 14
Falcons 13

Red Zone Efficiency
Cowboys 1 of 2
Falcons 1 of 2
The bad thing about this was that our defense offered zero resistance.

Not having rewatched the game, I say this as only assumption. But it's reasonable to assume ATL's defensive gameplan changed when they're up 29-10. Saw a lot of prevent in the 2nd half and kudos to Moore for not abandoning the run in that situation.

Exactly.

Gameflow played a big part in all of this.

They were trying to protect a monster lead and we were trying to overcome a monster deficit.

We won the game and lead for 0 seconds lol.
That’s pretty amazing

Wrong.

2nd Half:

Falcons Offense
Punt
TD
FG
Punt

Cowboys Offense
TD
TD
ST failed Fake
TD
TD
FG

For the game the Falcons received the ball on a punt or kick 7 times (i.e. not a short field) and scored 17 points (2.4 points per possession).

Prior to the final FG the Cowboys scored 5.6 points per possession).

I saw a total of 39 points put up on the board, you're right. Defense was fantastic.

it changed when they lost olukon and McKinley.

Without the 3 turnovers and two failed fake punts we win that game something like 45-21. We outscored them 40-19 And tripled their yardage once the turnovers stopped.

other than that mrs. Lincoln how was the play.

Unfortunately some of the same issues from last year are still present - we struggle at pressuring the QB, we struggle to get off the field on 3rd.4th downs, we struggle to generate turnovers.

It's only two games but the trend when looking back at last year, isn't great.

Yeah I'm hoping MM can do something to help shore up the weaknesses in that defense. At least the run defense looks a little better than it did early on in that 1st game.

Normally I’d agree, but the turnovers all happened in the first 10 minutes or so. We dominated that game for 45+ minutes. That’s a sample size worthy of saying “if X didn’t happen, Y would have been the outcome”. There was a quick flurry of mistakes, after which time we were clearly the better team.

So last year we had a second half offense. This year we have a second half defense. That's what I'm getting.

But only one turnover was the result of defensive scheme/offensive personnel issues. The Zeke and Schultz fumbles were just common football errors.

We also schemed around the tackles after the first quarter by going up tempo and leaving Zeke into block on most downs.

I cannot recall feeling as emabarrased about winning a game as yesterday.

Not me! To win a game where you've been down as bad as we were takes more than just luck, it took perseverance and some very good football. This team did not give up, they hung in there and kept fighting!
Granted the 1st quarter was embarrassing, but they deserve a lot of credit for such an impressive come back.

They didn't take their foot off the gas. We stopped shooting ourselves in the foot.

This was a game that really showed that we have a powerful offense. To score 40 with both starting tackles out is really something.

Right? I don't understand this mentality Dallas was just given the game. They went out and earned that win. Pretty sure Falcons weren't on the bench like, "meh, they can have this one".

I don't think that saying works in this instance. In essence, Lincoln dodged the bullet and left the play together with his wife smiling and talking about what a thrilling performance and awesome ending.

They gave up too much, but zero resistance isn’t a fair characterizations. There has to be defensive stops to come back from a 19 point deficit.
