What do you have against Supergirl? ;) While I understand going to the CW to be with the rest of the DC shows it was still a weird change.

I will have to resubscribe to All Access next month or the month after. Watch S3 and Picard. Maybe Lower Decks too (saw the first episode on Pluto, I thought it was funny).
I do not have any data but I think ratings dropped for Supergirl, which prompted the change. Let us know what you think of Picard. I had mixed expectations at first but ended up enjoying the heck out of it.

Lower Decks may get off my Do Not See list eventually. One shot parodies of Star Trek are okay but the snobbish geek in me does not like serious attempts to poke fun at the franchise, even if some parodies are actually comedy based lol.

She is a name. In my household, that is. :D

Her fame would be greater if CBS had Discovery within its regular programming schedule instead of its exclusive streaming service. It is a show formatted with a strong female lead that would have done much better with general television audience of one of the four major over-the-air broadcast networks than, say, Supergirl.

Discovery has both a strong core and supporting cast. The scripts are well-thought out. The CGI is top-notch. Direction is not finite and restrictive. All of the above are a solid tier above what Melissa Benoist was saddled with. Benoist watched her show migrate in reverse, from CBS main lineup to its alternate programming network The CW.

I digress a bit. What I am saying is I wish Martin-Green had the same opportunity as Benoist when she landed the lead role. Who knows just how 'big' Martin-Green would be now if she had two solid years playing in front of a larger audience?
Sonequa should be in a dramatic role, as the star of a more serious show....after Discovery, of course. Come to think of it, I'd love to see her in a feature film. She could definitely do well in an MCU role of some type, but I can picture her doing just about anything. Her range of emotion is amazing.

I have no plans to watch Lower Decks.

Picard captivated me from the very first scene. The cinematography, the music, etc., had me before they even started one line of dialogue.

Just finished season 4 of breaking bad. Been watching series over the last few weeks. I have to say this series may be the best series I have ever watched. Over epic series like game if thrones, homeland, mad Men and others. The acting in every episode is top notch and writing is great. Sometimes a show is really dark and I have to waltk away for a few days but with one season to go, I am just wowed by this series....

I got hooked from the get go with the premise "what would I do"? His slow seduction into the darkness is really well done. Gives new meaning to "the path to Hell is paved with good intentions".

Ratched on Netflix. Seems like a strong departure from the nurse Ratched we know, but after watching the first episode, I like it so far.

Just read that Netflix cancelled Dark Crystal Age of Resistance. I'm bummed.

I watched The Social Dilemma on Netflix last night. Interesting stuff. Does make you think.

We keep assuming technology advances will make things better, and they should but humans keep getting in the way. Maybe this is why the machines will eventually attempt to wipe out humanity. Twitter is going to be the cause of a global war and possibly the extinction of mankind. It is like a Matrix that we created for ourselves, a fake world where everything seems real but it isn't.

It's funny. I joke with the wife that Hollywood predicted our future with films such as Terminator and Matrix. While I say it tongue-in-cheek mostly joking, it's really not out of the question. Artificial Intelligence is the ultimate evolution.

Got through 2 episodes of Away on Netflix. I’m seriously considering not watching any further as it is too blah and cookie cutter. Predictably the Americans are the good guys keeping the peace with UK and India trying to help and the Russian and Chinese have hidden agendas etc

They actually did that well before those two with "Kronos". It figured out quickly that we were just in the way and expendable.

Ancestors of today's homo sapiens created the first weapon, a rock. It wasn't a weapon before they turned it into one. Our hunger for destruction will not be satiated until it is absolute with self destruction.

Unfortunately, it gets worse. I think after episode 2 is when they start getting into the astronauts back stories, which could not be less interesting. The show needed a lot more dangerous space stuff happening.

I have to disagree. I thought it was an excellent show. The whole concept of what they're doing is dangerous, but they're trying to make it somewhat realistic, rather than making it a thriller. The backstories give insight into how they interact with each other and react to situations.
