when this offense is in and out if the huddle fast or running no huddle Dak gets into his rhythm way better and this offense looks unstoppable.

It slows down opposing pass rushers, stops substitutions anspd wears them down especially with Zeke lowering the boom too.

What is stopping kellen from doing this all game long, tempo, motion, misdirection......

2016 is what is stopping it..

They keep trying to repeat that team and that is not what they are built to do.

Refresh my memory

They had an incredible offensive line and the best version of Zeke Elliot that we will probably ever see..

3rd downs Cole Beasley was near unstoppable.

We were incredible at playing slow and sustaining long drives by controlling the game with The Oline and Zeke.

Our pass game was basically Dak bootlegs on early down and option routes to Beasley or Witten on.

Wasn't a lot if thst predicated by the fact that dak was a 4th round rookie qb put into action by romo injury and they wanted to shorten the game

The team was first in tempo in the league in week 1. Didn’t wear out the pass rushers then. When McKinley was in the game it looked like the 4th quarter all over again.

Once McKinley came out, the defense wasn’t as good

Motion actually slows tempo down because it takes longer to get the play setup.

Tempo only works when it's coupled with a high level of execution and first downs,,, otherwise you're just wearing out your own defense by shortening the time your defense gets to rest. Lord knows they can't get themselves off the field quickly.

All game long, or every game.

You avoid up tempo if you're trying to protect your defense.

Given our offensive weapons, I think we should just try to outscore other teams and hope the defense can get a turnover or two. Pedal to the metal. Pass to set up the run. Make them defend the pass to make running easier. Hoping to simply grind out the run makes the offense less than it can be.

It's easier and safer to lean on a dominant run game, but 2016 was a rare year with Zeke and the oline playing at All Pro levels.

The oline isn't the same, and neither is Zeke, though he has perked up. But we've got so much more at WR now. So much more in Dak. And more for offensive coaching.

We can have a better offense by using all that we have now (assuming Smith and Collins back) than trying to repeat 2016.

Tempo helps this team but they need to know when to use it.

You can't do it all game, just look at Chip Kelly.

That being said uptempo should absolutely be used more often in the game. At least a drive or two every quarter

I've said this for awhile. This offense especially Dak does great in the hurry up offense. Once we get set and the defense adjusts Dak has a hard time adapting and reading the changes.

Hurry up offense its night and day

I suspect It probably explains why the McCarthy staff has their practices conducted at a fast pace. The better they execute at a fast pace in practice, the better they become at it in games. Jimmy Johnson used that to advantage in his practices. It seemed to create positive results in games. It also tends to get more done in a short period of time. Todays practices are limited, so fast paced practices are a necessity, nowadays. Also, it's a conditioning factor.

Dak seems to respond to up tempo but if we have 3 turnovers in the 1st quarter like we did Sunday. The defense will be gassed in the first with 3 to go..
