These guys are so soft. They expect to just ease their way into being productive?

I’m glad media members are calling them out. Bunch of sensitive guys who can’t handle the truth that they’re playing like crap
Probably because the coaches no longer call out players. Football is not what it used to be for sure. Guys shut it down when they are tired. Man when I was practicing football in HS, it was brutal. We had 2 a days in the Texas heat in summer. I would lose 6 lbs each practice in sweat. I doubt these NFL players could do our practices that we went through. We didn't just go for a few minutes haha. The league is pure entertainment now. Sports is a small piece of it these days.

Yeah, one of the players that is not meeting expectations. He can have see same conversation with several overpayed, underperforming players.
Griffens point is it takes time to round into shape especially this year. Cavanaugh is like a lot of the media fanboys on here that think players should be like they are in Madden all the time regardless of real world.

I agree with Jeff. Griffen has been disappointing.

I hate to see players evading responsibility for their poor play. Note that Griffen doesn't argue the quality of his play, he just makes an excuse for it. Maybe he has a fair point with his excuse, but that doesn't negate the evaluation of his play so far.

Buck up if you're not playing well yet. Face it. Don't deny it.

I get it that it's Cavanaugh's job as a reporter covering the Cowboys to be critical if need be, but Imagine if his job was as scrutinized as much as Griffen's. Maybe Jeff would be a little touchy as well. BTW I personally thought Cavanaugh's report was fair and on point.

Has anyone on that defense done a good job? Aldon Smith, Hill, Joe Thomas...maybe. Diggs if you give him rookie mistakes. The rest have sucked.

Griffen seems awfully insecure for a pro athlete. Having rabbit ears isn't a good thing, especially with social media. There will always be critics.

Some teams advise their athletes to avoid twitter banter. It often tends to foster needless distraction. Media and fans can be brutal.

It's why so many players are advised to avoid tweeting. It's a waste of time and oftentimes, gets 'em in trouble, unnecessarily.
Yup, you know how they can answer and get these people to shut up? Prove it on the field, problem solved.

Hopefully, Griffen takes his anger out on Russell Wilson on Sunday.

LOL -- gotta love that idea. He does present a problem in attempting to catch him, however.

A quick first step usually helps! Let's hope it's just a matter of time 'til he gets the sacks! :)

Oh, boy. His job is to cover the story, not to insert himself into it.
He didn't even tag the guy in the original post. If he tagged Griffen in the post, yeah, he'd be trying to start something. He just mentioned his name and gave his thoughts based on whatever film he's been analyzing. And either Griffen found out because he searches his own name constantly, or one of Griffen's friends went out of their way to put it in his feed.

If you're saying it's out of bounds for sports people to analyze or comment on teams by citing players' names, I don't know what to tell you.

I don't know what sports journalism or analysis would look like if it's no longer okay to cite players by name when analyzing play, but whatever it looks like, it's not going to be journalism or analysis anymore. The only people who will be allowed to use players' names are the ones who say glowing positive things? No thanks.

Wah wah wah wah someone is criticizing me on social media. While doing their job. Let me respond with how sensitive I am and cause attention. What a lame. And Jeff is right. He has been terrible so far. This whole defense has.

2 games is a lot in the scope of a 16 game season. How much time does he need? I watch around the league and almost every DL is better than ours.

IKR, the excuse is no camp/etc but that applies for all teams. Our guys look like they are running in sand.
