Top 6 - 8? Arguably, yes, but he's not been Top 3 on the Defense. Aldon Smith, Jaylon Smith (leader in tackles) and Trevon Diggs have performed better, along with a few others.

I'm a big Jaylon fan and supporter, but he's be abysmal this season so far

While a future 3T rotation of Hill and Gallimore could be really, REALLY good, I still think they need a true 1T/NT next to them to enhance their games. I’m talking about a legit 1T that commands double teams on every snap and, yet, can hold his ground and even get the pocket pushed every play. You know, a Casey Hampton/Vince Wilfork/Ted Washington type.

Hill has played nicely, but he hasn't played as well as Thomas. And Diggs has had some ups but he's had some downs, too. He's not there yet. Despite our defensive struggles, X Woods has played pretty well. The corners and other safeties have been pretty terrible. Lewis was our worst DB on Sunday. Chido has never lived up to his second round draft spot. We really whiffed on that draft.

Looks like he though he could get around that block and catch the ball carrier from the backside. Maybe before his injury he could.

Top cap hit for the high 3 defenders: Lawrence $20M, Jaylon Smith $12M, and Crawford $8M. That is 40 Large for those three.

I did not look up the actual numbers but these are probably good approximations.

I'm not disagreeing but I have seen him being moved at times. I think another offseason will make him much more stronger and give him much better technique. This defense ask the DTs to do things that Rod didn't ask them to do. He is only going to get better

Maybe it’s just me, but I was always taught to funnel plays towards the middle of the fields, where there are more bodies. He helped push the RB outside - bad technique

The coaching change saved Hill's career with Dallas. He should have been playing last year. Marinelli buried him and stunted his development. I was a Hill supporter last year and was surprised how little he was activated, but when injuries forced them to play him I was even more surprised by how well he played. I expected to see a guy get bowled over by OGs but instead I saw a guy who could not only hold his own but make plays. Hill will be a good player but they wasted him for a year. But in no way am I satisfied with the DT rotation yet.

btw, Maliek Collins, the perennial pre-season breakout player, looks the same with the Raiders. No push, no plays. They can have him. Hill is already an upgrade and will improve with experience.

Maybe this forum will finally listen to what I and several others on here have been screaming for years. DL takes the longest to transition to the NFL.
