2 games is a lot in the scope of a 16 game season. How much time does he need? I watch around the league and almost every DL is better than ours.
Our DL is also older than a lot of them around the league. DLaw, Aldon, Crawford and Poe are aged vets. The most explosive player so far has been Hill and he’s the youngest. Correlation? I think so.

IKR, the excuse is no camp/etc but that applies for all teams. Our guys look like they are running in sand.
Is this true? From what I have been reading the Cowboys are the only team that have had to deal with this type of adversity and are thus at a serious disadvantage.

Two games wouldn't even in a normal season be enough to judge a team, in a year with no pre-season games and less than usual other off-season activities, it's even less.

Does almost every d-line have a new dc and head coach? Did almost every d-line sign two new DTs and have to put one on IR before the season even started?

Can't throw an NFL team in a microwave and pop out a top d-line in minutes. How many times have we seen Cowboys, and other, teams look to be not very good at the beginning of the season, only to "come on" later in the year and be SB contenders?

Need at least 4 games, and I'd have no problem with anybody's opinion that it might be 6, though I'd not agree with 6....

Personally I don't think the defense is as bad as most of you think it is.
Gosh Irv, I didn't know your eyesight had deteriorated so badly. My sympathies. You must just be listening to the games and not be able to see the Olines are putting our Dline wherever they want them. LB'ers (other than Joe) have been little more than speed bumps and downfield tacklers (pads the stats but really shows up in the Losses column) . Who knows about the secondary cause they havin' to cover for ever but they haven't looked that great either. So basically just the opposite of everything we were told about training camp.

PS - Just a little good natured ribbing.

It's ok I respect your opinion but after watching tape I don't think this defense is terrible like some want to say. In fact I see a defense that will finish top 15 by the end of the year.

Appreciate that you can take a joke!!

I'm generally an optimist as well. I do think they will get better and could be good. it just really chaps me that they touted how the dline was bullying in camp and have been manhandled by two Olines that I don't think are top of the class. I'm sure there is a lot of disappointment in everyone's evaluations right now (including mine).

I think players aren't use to the new scheme yet but have been inches from making big plays.

Against the Rams it was maybe there hardest team to go against week 1 with no offseason or preseason. Yet, they gave up only 20 points

Against Atlanta they actually played decent. Offense put them in bad situations in the first quarter and gave Atlanta 5 drives starting in FG range. 2nd-4th quarters they gave up 19 total points. 9 points in the 2nd, 0 in the 3rd and 10 in the 4th quarter. They dropped 3 picks which would have kept Atlanta from scoring 19 points. 2 Atlanta TDs came from a busted coverage...... still getting up to speed with new scheme
