Wasn’t Terell going to be the pick if Lamb was not there? Thought they had him in for a visit?

Maybe not, Falcons picked before Cowboys.
I honestly never heard that. I do remember hearing about CJ Henderson if I'm not mistaken.....I think Chaisson was the pick.....I actually forgot all about him and wonder how he's doing over in Jacksonville.

I started to do a "Kaiser Rolls" writeup on the Atlanta game but I dont think there is a lot new to add. But one thought was, explain to me why Diggs didn't go in the top half of the first round?

In the past drafts, there has not been much separation between the top ten and the next ten or so players going back to the Fredbeard draft. 2020 was rumored to be a deep draft and it was.

I think I recall a lot of cowboyszone fans being thrilled when the Falcons chose Terell since Lamb was still there and many thought Terell was overrated.

No offense, but getting done in by Davante as a rookie is barely a notch below getting done in by Julio as a rookie.

D.Adams is a stud.
Not questioning Adams. That was my point Okudah got done it but it was by Adams. But the fact that he's even guarding Adams says where Okudah is at right now. He's already the best corner on his team and future star. I'd even go as far as to say Davante Adams right now is better than Julio honestly. Especially if Julio is hobbled.

Yeah I saw a lot of people thinking Terrell was taken too high. He looked good on Sunday though I thought. It was Dennard that done them in.

it would appear young mr. diggs is currently our best cb. lewis got hurt. diggs got more reps. and he made the most of his opportunity. apparently he's very coachable. he won the starting job. it wasn't given to him due to his draft ranking.

HE knows were the ball is. That makes him better than most that have been back there for decades.

I like his performance so far. Hopefully he'll learn (or maybe a coach can do their job and tell him) when you're on an island with no safety support to maybe back a couple of yards off the LOS when covering an elite guy. The dropped pass by Julio and the play he was flagged for PI I thought he was too tight at the line and got beat almost immediately. He has the length and athleticism to play off a little bit in those situations.

Easy... Diggs will be a house hold name for the next decade.
In a way, I feel sorry for him, because he has so much responsibility going forward.
Shame that Jerry has neglected the secondary, Byron Jones was our best and he is already on IR on his next team..really weak and exposable.

I would give him a pass on the Julio dropped pass play. He’s a rookie and he probably wasn’t anticipating a bomb coming from a WR lined up in the wildcat.

I'm seeing more flashes from him in 2 games compared to Morris Claiborne and Awuzie's first 2 games as rookies. I would say Byron too but he started at safety.

His INTs will come. We are still trying to rid ourselves of the Garrett/Marinelli curse. Luckily, he is a rookie and already plays with ball-hawking instincts. The others have already been indoctrinated for several years of bad coaching. It will take a while for them to adjust playing the ball in the air like Diggs.

Yea, but it was also a trick play.

And Diggs dropped an int, right?
So?

Dropped pick is extremely generous, considering it was a contested ball. It's a PBU and calling it anything else is exaggerating.

it was actually a question and not a suggestion. was at work and only saw the highlights once, so yea, you showed me

and the fact that it’s a trick play matters in the sense that Jones did in fact, as you said, dropped it. doesn’t make sense to bash a rookie for getting beat on a trick play, when said trick play resulted in an incompletion. Had Jones caught it, yup, it counts. But he didn’t...

I'm not bashing him. Julio Jones beats everyone. I'm just saying the numbers are very different if he doesn't catch a break.

I like the potential of his game, but I'm not in stud territory yet, however, I'll go there with Mr. Lamb.

yes and he will only get better imo. he is still very raw at db. he would be a great pick at 17 let alone 51.

Rookie CB in press man coverage vs Julio Jones with Zero Safety help.

Many fans didn't notice that it was a "trick" play Wildcat QB...
