You’ve been saying for years we need to put some strong draft investment in the defensive side of the trenches. The Jones FO for some reason has never received that memo. We have had mediocre to bad defenses for a very long here time in Allas. Yes, that’s the correct spelling since “there’s no ‘D’ in Dallas”, lol.

I swear Jerry can never seem to draft or trade for enough WRs. It’s like our GM is building a Madden juggernaut or he plays in some secret fantasy football league with the ghost of Al Davis.

Fans don’t want to hear the word “rebuild” because it means we wasted another window of talent.
thats my grip

There was no offseason. These things will take time.

Since there was no off season makes it make even more sense to run a scheme that fits the players not a scheme the players have to fit. This was not the year to install new schemes with not having OTA's or mini camps to start the process.

I know most don't want to hear it, but we're simply not going anywhere until we fix the D. Pretty sure McC is well aware of that. Galley and Diggs are a good start. Need tons more talent on D, though at this point.

Rebuilding is starting over with a complete new staff and new QB. They maybe retooling their defense and special teams, but did virtually nothing to the offensive unit. This team is not rebuilding by any means, they are trying to build onto their foundation that already exists.

I think they've been trying to rebuild the defense for some years now, they've just missed on their picks.

Kind of a side step fron the main topic, but I agree and heard something last night that falls in line with this.

@Techsass posted an interview with Nolan from Monday. A reporter asked him about everything going on, shortening the preseason and essentially detonating any hopes of installing the new systems.

He flat out said that there's a ton Dallas cannot do because they missed so much time building. The way that I heard it pretty much, is that the product we see on the field is bare minimum due to the circumstances that didn't allow proper training for implementation.

It was a decent interview and kind of helped shed some light on some general concerns about the defense itself.

I wish we would have had time to prepare like all the other teams did. Seems so unfair.
