For all you Dak haters. Look what your hero Wentz has been up to

Defensive issues aside, I don't think Wentz is playing well at all.

58% completions, 2 touchdowns to 4 int's, 250 yds/game, and a 64% QBR.

And some of his decisions have been real head-scratchers.

and after 2 games Lamar Jackson may be the greatest QB who ever lived, 135 QB rating, 10 yards per attempt.

It’s 2 games, I’m not much for overreaction

They are stuck with Wentz. They have serious cap issues the next 2 years. 2022 in particular could be very challenging for them because several of the contracts Howie signed are for older players and pushed the money to that year. Dead cap space will be huge for any of those players if they were cut. He will be forced to take a hit or restructure contracts for old players.

They can get out of it after the 2021 season if things were to really go south via cut or trade.

Granted, it's a $24.5 million cap hit.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the guy but even I can admit that he was never this bad. This is uncharacteristic of him and something looks completely off. He got better weapons and got worse somehow?

You putting money on that?

Yes absolutely

I bet you 1000 dollars it is scientifically possible for the eagles to go 14-2 after week 2 *if we play all 16 games.

Now hold on, I want to double check my math before I agree to it

Teenage girls and millennials “hate” people......adults critique players on the merit of their play and leave personal feelings out of the equation. How can we hate someone whom we’ve never met or interacted with?

Separating the two will lead to meaningful dialogue. Equating hating a player to critiquing a player is fruitless at best and juvenile at worst.......most people know this but interject “Hating” to create a straw man that doesn’t exist.

There are some who have honest and fair crituqes of players, while others blindly bash a player, and manipulate stats to force there point to be true.

Separating the two allows for meaningful dialogue between people not blinded by agendas, hate, and negative motives. Implying millennials and teenage girls are the only individuals capable of hate is fruitless at best and juvenile at worst...most people know this but too many instead use women, and youths to prevail a thought that only older men are allowed to discuss things.

Yeah, that's some nice spin. Wentz has been pretty horrible to date this season. No, he's not responsible for the defense stinking through two games but other than the first 20 or so minutes of the Skins game, he's not been a very good QB.

For 2 games* I agree. I don’t know of a QB who hasn’t had a bad 2 game stretch.

You can call it spin, but was it spin when it happened to Peyton, Brady, Marino, Elway?

Jackson also led his team to a 14-2 record last year and looks to have gotten even better. That's an upwards trajectory, not an anomaly.

Let me know if and when you do start to worry.

If we miss the playoffs I will, as Carson proved last year we’re still in it as long as Dallas keeps playing The way they are

It just doesn't seem like Wentz is the long-term solution.... he doesn't appear all that well-liked by the team personally. He has some talent, but there's just stuff missing. So do they keep him in knowing it's going to probably throw the season away, or put in Hurts before he's ready? Tough decision.

I don't see any other choice but to stick with him this year. I feel that if they ever benched the guy - and especially for the rookie Hurts - that there would be no going back. He'd be finished in Philadelphia and they're certainly stuck with his contract through 2021. I think Wentz gets the 2020 season at a minimum to try to turn things around.

Jason Garrett isn't around to keep you 'in it' that way any longer. But as you've pointed out, it's a marathon and not a sprint and there are 14 games left, anything can happen.

you’ve been worse the first 2 games this year than you were for most of last year. 29-10 halftime deficit loses to 30 of the teams in the nfl. Only a classic Atlanta disaster has kept you from 0-2

The spin was trying to deflect the Eagles problems through two games away from Wentz and onto the defense. It's quite possible the Eagles are 2-0 if Wentz doesn't throw two dreadful interceptions in the Skins and Rams game, even with the bad defense.

he’s not been great, he’s thrown a couple bad picks, but I don’t know if ‘great’ Wentz would have even won us the rams game

4400+ posts on a Cowboys forum when you're an Eagle fan is just bizarre at this point. Whatever floats your boat I guess...

I guess!

What you should find even more bizarre is that my like count is approaching the post count. On a cowboys board where everyone knows who I root for and against

Good Wentz would have won you the Skins game. 17-0 and the ball late in the first half and he throws a terrible pick that leads to the Skins being able to score a TD right before the half. 17-7 with the ball early in the 3rd Q after just getting the Skins to go 3 and out, he throws another terrible pick that gives the Skins great field position to cut the score to 17-14.

Rams game, after being down huge early, Eagles fight back, move the ball well and have a chance to take the lead and Wentz throws an awful interception in the end zone.

So yeah, good Wentz may have won you those games. He's as much to blame as the defense getting shredded.

Only a botched PI in week 1 has prevented Dallas from being 2-0

Atlanta choked. But do not discount it was due to the pressure Dallas added. After going down 20-0, the Cowboys scored on 7 of 8 drives.

That's not accurate.

Could be worse.

We could have lost to a nameless team and gotten blown out by the Rams at home.

You're in no position to talk.
