So 35 million is elite but 34 isn't? I feel like elite money is based on what percentage of the cap you take up honestly.
we are talking in the present climate keeping Dak under Wilson well to me that elite money..

we all know the blah blah Market talk we get it but still should be pecking order and just because Mahomes and Watson has moved the bar doesnt mean all qbs up for new deals get over that bar,..

irony is in 2018 when well all starting debating daks new deal we were arguing 28 mil being the ceiling ..crazy now with Hopkins and their deals have been changing the markets for al positions..

Personally, I think elite is about the QB himself. An elite QB drives the team to success as the catalyst. Brady, Montana, Staubach....I don't think an elite QB stops being elite, just because his ability diminishes with age. It's like "Once a Marine, always a Marine" IMO.

So Cam and Tom Brady are still elite right now?

I don't necessarily disagree with you I just think that whole title has just become a word the media used to describe the best quarterbacks but it becomes so blurred on what elite is. Romo had the stats but because he didn't win playoff games he's not elite. Just seems blurred.

That's exactly what it is though. Deshaun Watson did not get Russell Wilson money.

I have to attend to agree with you on this but there are some exceptions. I consider Brady to be elite but he did not take up a lot of NE salary cap I believe. He did have a wife who made very good money.

I don't think Cam was ever elite. Brady is elite, but no longer playing elite ball. I think of it this way: Are you going to look back on their career 20 or 30 years from now and say they were elite QBs? If so, how can they not still be elite now? If you won't see them as elite in 20 or 30 years, how can they ever have been elite?

That's just the way I look at it. Of course, I don't expect everyone to see it the same way I do.

I always hear different things on Brady. He took favorable deals but it was still for elite money.

So what made Cam not elite? He had the MVP. Made it to the Super Bowl with inferior talent.....seems like he checked all the boxes?

Once. And his play has been inconsistent. Maybe I'll change my thinking if he does well enough in NE, but for now I just don't see him as being in the same stratosphere as Brady, Montana, or Wilson.

I think Romo was elite. I think Dak is definitely rapidly becoming elite... playoff games or not.

I think Romo was a great QB, but not elite. But like I said earlier, my idea of elite means it's pretty much beyond debate, which obviously isn't the case with Romo, since he has so many detractors.

1. The Dak hate is ridiculous. When Dak’s O line blocks, he consistently plays, very well, to excellent. See Atlanta game. When his O line blocks like crap, he does not play as well. See Rams game( he still played pretty well considering the blocking was crap ). Every top QB is like this!!

2. Our biggest weakness right now is our pass defense. When we play zone, way to often, receivers are running wide open. When we play man, our defenders are a step or two or three out of position. Diggs is a bright spot! Hopefully, the pass D will progress as the season goes on.

3. This offense needs to show it can move the ball and SCORE POINTS vs a good team. Vs Seattle, the way their offense is playing and the way our defense is playing( right now ), our O needs to put up 37 or more points to feel confident in a W.

4. If our O line shows up vs Seattle‘s D, we can score those 37 points. Seattle is 32nd vs the pass, right now! There D, so far, has shown very little pash rush and they have a bunch of injuries. Instead of spending 2 first rounders on Adams, they should have spent the money on Frank Clark. He is wreaking havoc in KC. A dominant DE is more important than a dominant safety.

5. I am willing to give Nolan more time, but this defense is not a TEAM defense right now. To many players not doing their job. Example, play the dang boot leg, Lawrence!

6. Shultz can catch! He played a very good to excellent game. On the TD he showed good speed getting beyond the safety to give Dak a window to throw into.

7. We have a REAL Special Teams coach. I know all the decisions did not pay off( especially the fake punts) but I love the aggressiveness. We were actually kicking off short( see New England ) to pin the other team back, force a penalty or force a turnover. We actually had confidence in our kickoff return team. Which we should with Pollard back there, but stop returning punts 6-10 yards deep.

8. Zek is in shape and motivated. He trucked the safety. He was punishing Atlanta defenders.

9. Our receivers are as advertised. Gallop is not getting as many opportunities, but his attitude and desire really impress me.

i don't hate Dak. I like him as our qb and think he will be a good one. My only problem I have with him is his inconsistency. He is 2-9 I think in close games. You have to win those games and against good teams if you want to be consider elite and get paid elite money despite who is coaching or injured.
The team is inconsistent. Very naive to blame it all on Dak. Have you seen this defense the last year or so? You talk about can't win close games because the defense usually fails in stopping the other team. Yet that's Dak's fault?

No, he is not. LOL.
This is a weird made up stat covering some weird period.

Dak is the 3rfd winning-est QB since he was drafted and he is 4th in game winning drives.

Here's an article from back in 2018 saying ALL he does well is win close games, lol.
https://foxsportsradio.iheart.com/c...-prescott-is-average-but-he-wins-close-games/

Bottom line is any stat you want to use and use over his career Dak will rank highly.

Sadly, Dak has the same problem Romo did.... a defense that absolutely cannot get a stop when it is needed most.

To be fair, the majority of the close games lost were due to poor coaching.

I don't know about Dak hate, but there is a reason people have questions about Dak and one game isn't going to change that. You have to realize that. Committing a boatload of money against the cap similar to Mahomes and Wilson is not something you just do because he has one good game. That would be idiotic. Lets see how this season pans out. I don't want to hear about Dak did this and Dak did that and we're 8-8. Because no need dedicate a boatload of money to a QB for being 8-8.

I think both teams can score at will as Seattle's pass defense is pretty bad aswell.

It will come down to which team wants it the most & coaching. Unfortunately, Seattle has the better coach and this is where Dak has his issues on stepping into the elite spotlight aka stepping up when needed.

Yea Yea I know Dak played phenomenal last week however thats just one week. He struggles in this department while Wilson is one of the premier quarterbacks in it.

Seattle by a FG in my honest opinion. Hope Dak proves me wrong
