I don’t disagree with you, I’m just poking some fun at Coach Vanilla. At least now we can eat some butter pecan, chocolate and other ice cream flavors.
I knew some fans were going to enjoy losing more with our new HC. It might taste better for awhile but eventually without more success it will sour.

I think the bigger point he was making is Dak and this offense are more effective when we dominated on the ground pounding the rock and controlling time of possession with the lead. Basically what Jimmy was eluding to last week.

I agree with McCarthy.

score points. Winning time of possession in the first half doesn’t help you a lot it you don’t score a lot of points because the opposing offense won’t be facing a time crunch yet anyway.

later in the game, If you have a lead. That’s when you want to focus on playing keep away and minimize the number of possessions in the 4th quarter. IMO.

Feeding Zeke in the 4th quarter with a lead, is a great way to close out football games.

They just need to score enough points early to put themselves into that position.

Greggo if Big Mac stinks it up with a bunch of losses this year, maybe I’ll join you in the boo section against him. But he’s only coached two games, and we should already write him off? I don’t see that as giving him a fair shot. I’m going to give him at least this season before throwing a bunch of shade. Jerry has earned his criticism 25 times over, but McCarthy hasn’t even had a two game losing streak yet.

How did you come away with this reaction. I haven’t written him off or any of the above.

I simply stated fans appear to be enjoying the new flavor despite the results on the field. It doesn’t look any better so far.

Ok. I guess I misunderstood. I’ve always believed in giving someone some time before pulling the plug. Garrett had about 4-5 years too many. About 3-5 is enough time to win something or find a new address. Wish our GM understood that.

Maybe I'm missing something, I just don't see the logic to getting into a shootout with Russel Wilson, on his turf mind you. We have something Seahawks don't .......Zeke. Hell, based on what MM is saying he expects Wilson to make a couple of mistakes ( turnovers) or our D stop him a few times. Good luck with that, on both counts. I'm not saying you don't take the advantage to their secondary but play smart, protect your D.

Any team will do whatever they can to prevent us from scoring.

The secret here is to defeat them at their own game.

Let's hope we're capable of accomplishing that task.
I'm also hoping we control them better than they can us!

Seattle has a great run defense and trash juice pass defense so let's run the ball more than usual when the Cowboys already run too much.

I think McCarthy is right. The old idea that the Cowboys can just run the ball controlling the clock is not feasible any more with this OL. That ship has probably sailed. We just need to be aggressive early and often.

Good call... now maybe you can pass the message along to protect the damn ball!!!
Another sign of a brilliant coach, let’s play into the Seattle defense strength, instead of their inability to defense the pass... sheer brilliance!!!

Would like to see us grind out a drive and see. I know they are afraid that wilson is going to score quick so we should do the same. May come down to who has the ball last. Or who’s defense makes a stop. MM not trusting our Defense or maybe he is..

Even if the line was its old self Seattle's defense has been torched through the air in both games. Running the ball, because we don't trust our defense (what else is new?), would play right into their hands. Now if you have a lead late then you hit 'em with Zeke. Their DL should be tired from rushing the passer all day.

But come out throwing. Put the pressure on their defense.

You take what the defense gives you, whether that’s single coverage opportunities for big plays or underneath stuff to move the chains. Ball control doesn’t have to mean a lot of rushes. Ball control can mean lots of short passes if that’s how the defense is playing.

MM and Moore will do as the game dictates. Yes they want to score early and score often. But that does not mean Pass, Pass, Pass. Nor does it mean to Run, Run, Run to play keep away. I expect to see about what we have seen.

As for Seattle's run defense, they have not played Zeke yet. The played NE with no RB's to really speak of, as White did not play, and Atlanta with what seems to be a washed up Gurley. And both teams moved the ball well against them overall.

As we all know, the key to this game, as we know they will not stop Wilson the entire game. However, they must make stops and at critical times. Steal a few possessions is the best way to say it.

No one thinks we win on Sun... so play loose and hungry with nothing to lose. Exploit any mismatches in your favor. Turn it into a track meet. Hit Russ in the mouth whenever you can.

Be aggressive in playcalling on both sides of the ball. Capitalize on the mojo from this past W and show some swag. Protect the football, play solid fundamentals, and we may just shock the world

Both of these strategies can be effective, in the right situations. And in this situation, maybe both can be effective.

We will need to attack their weak secondary to move the ball quickly and definitely need to score TD's not FG's.
But we will also need to chew the clock and keep dangeRuss from dissecting our weakened pass defense as well.

If it's going to be raining, I say pound Zeke at their soft D-line a lot, but also throw in some quick passes and go deep often to keep their LB's and DB's loose at the line. Take turns at being pass heavy vs run heavy at times, especially around the goal line.
Maybe a run/pass ratio something like a 65/35 split? Keep them guessing and honest, while attacking the entire game.

We will also need to stop their run game early and take a decent lead. Then we can go after Mr. Wilson, if we dare. He's very dangerous when flushed so they will have to contain first and than attack him to have any success. That dude is playing some awesome football right now and is the only reason they're any good.

"We want to score as fast as we can, and as many times as we can."......This is what every team would like to do lol.
It is one thing to say it, and another to actually do it.
They dont have to run the ball to win top, or keep wilson off the field, they have to go on long drives, short passing and runs.
If they hit a long pass and wind up with a td out of that, thats ok.
Also their focus should be on fumbles, after the last game, and not turning over the ball especially in their end of the field.

Also sometimes you have to wait and be in the game and see what is working and what isnt, and adjust during game.
It is ok to have a game plan, and be bold, but have the sense to abandon that plan if it isnt working, and be bold, but not stupid.
A fake punt from your own 30 just isnt smart, especially early in the game.
