Let’s admit something about Schultz

Far too many members within this C'boys website were being critics, rather than simply being fans who'd support them!

Their reactions to the play of Dalton Schultz exemplified that tendency beyond any feasible doubt. Feel better, now? o_O

This week were playing a top team or contender so No I dont feel good about schultz and Bell.

Wait until the next week when we play the Giants and I will be much more hopeful about winning.

How many scores did witten have in our last 16 games last year.

We went 2-0 only to finish 8-8.

He had a great game, after a disappointing previous game!

I don't blame him for the fumble either. He was punched in the head, and the defender never hit the ball. That was a huge no-call of a personal foul. Absolutely should have been 15 yard penalty, if not ejection also. Look at the point swing on that play too. This game was decided by one point!

I just watch the slowmo replay of that Schultz fumble five times and there was NO punch to the head. He punched the ball. The closest thing to Scultz head was when his head hit the shoulder pads of the defender as the ball was getting punched out. It's funny, not ha ha funny that not a single reporter mentioned a punch to the head nor either of the announcers. They didn't even say it was close and they should look at it again.

Depends on what angle you look at it from. I just tried to look at it myself after reading this, and couldn't find the same angle they showed on the TV broadcast. There were angles during the game where you could clearly see a punch to the head. I'm not sure if it was intentional - I tend to suspect it wasn't - but it did happen.

The fact the announcers didn't say anything doesn't mean much. I watched the game last night and was surprised the announcers didn't comment on a clear facemask, and it wasn't even in traffic or away from the play where it would be harder to notice, and it wasn't just a pass across the facemask, it was a full grab and pulled the player's head down.

The slowmo replay I watched IS A COPY OF BROADCAST OF THE GAME I have the entire game as shown on TV. Yes there are penalties in EVERY game that don't get called but that doesn't make it that there was a punch to Schultz's head. You're sounding just like the homers that refuse to admit that Gallup fully extended his arm on the offensive PI call in week 1. You just want to believe that there was some phantom penalty that should wiped away a fumble that in reality wasn't there.

You don't have to type in caps. If you have a point it will stand up in normal type, and if you don't, caps wont help.

I just know what I saw Sunday, and they showed multiple replays.

I didn't say or even suggest missed calls in every game mean there was a punch to Schultz's head, so I don't know what you are talking about with that comment. I was merely responding to your comment about the announcers not saying anything about it. That was the context of my comment.

You need to calm a bit. You are accusing me of an agenda, but getting upset and throwing silly accusations around puts that appearance on you.

I heard about the head punch, so I took it for granted. However, they showed a replay, and I didn't see it happen. Guess it was an angle thing.

I'm not sure how to get the full game so we can see all the replays, but look at this highlight clip at about the 2:40 mark. Instead of focusing on Schultz, watch the player coming into the picture from downfield to contact Schultz head on (#22 I think), and you can see his left arm swing back and swing forward as he was contacting Schultz. You cannot from this see the fist contact the head because of the angle and the bodies around, but during the game they had replays from behind Schultz were you could see that. I suspect he may have been trying to punch the ball and instead punched the head.

not tooting my horn but he became a whipping boy for a lot on here for some reason.

Now I don't think he'll be some stud, but some on here are too quick on banishing a player over a bad play. Especially when they get limited snaps.
In a sport with only a 16-game season every mistake is magnified. He killed us with his drops against the Rams. If it’s an 82-game Season like NHL or NBA then it’s not a big deal. Hope that Rams loss doesn’t keep us out of playoffs because that was winnable.

It was #54 who hit Schultz as he was punching at the ball to force the fumble. It is blatantly obvious on the first replay on the television broadcast. Just watched it again from my DVR.

Schultz lowered his head preparing for contact and he and the LB hit helmets. The game replays show that even clearer. There was no punch to the head.

Schultz was punched in the face mask on the fumble play. If you have the television broadcast it is blatantly obvious on the very first replay. I just watched it again and I am not sure how you are missing it. You can even even see Schultz’s head move from the impact. The punch continues down and forces the ball out.

schultz had nine receptions. that's an exceptional game by any standard. what must be admitted in regards to el senor schultz is that many of us aren't as good as judges of talent as we think. the week before he was the site's pinata. ay dios mio.

While Schultz was a pet cat of mine when he was eligible to be drafted, I think he needs to string together multiple games like last week before any referendum can be made about whether anyone was right or wrong about him. Last week was promising. Week One was not. He should have plenty of opportunities over the remainder of the season to show whether he can be a solid starter, or a guy needing to be replaced.

The Seahawks are favored by 4.5 points. It's not like that sort of an advantage can't be overcome. It won't keep me from pulling for my team. Players like Schultz and Bell are young, with upside enough to improve with each and every game. Getting experience will only make them better. Let's not allow being an underdog keep us from enjoying the game. I can certainly respect your apprehension, though. We're up against one of the best teams in the NFL. ;)

I originally said that I watch the slowmo of that play five times and you replied that what you saw on TV while watching the game you saw this punch to the head on one of the replays that were shown. I put it in caps because what I watched was a copy of exactly what was aired during the game but just as important is even if I watched a replay on YouTube where do you think that replay would have come from? You also are the one who brought up a missed face mask call which I responded with there are missed calls in every game but that doesn't mean there was a punch to the head of SAchults. Stop trying to avert attention away from your own doings and putting it on me. I also saw another user reply to you that there was no head punch but here you are trying to imply something about me when it is actually you that made the error to start out with.

Thank you. You are exactly right. One can see Schultz's head rotate when the defender hits him in the head.

Like @OmerV said, I too believe the defender was trying to punch the ball, but with bodies flying around accidentally hit his head instead.

Wish I could post the replay I have from the game.
