He's taking a lot of heat from the media this past week and deservedly so. He's been awful in both games so far. Wentz does not look comfortable in the pocket and rushes through his progressions. He has to be afraid of getting hit.

If the Bengals beat Philly Sunday and if it's even partly Wentz's fault, well, let's just say Wentz could very well be done as the Philly starting QB.

It’s a big IF on if the bengals beat the eagles.

I certainly don’t expect it. But man would I love to see it.

I don't think there's any way that Wentz loses his starting job this year.

With the amount Philly is paying him, I highly doubt he’ll be done as the starter. Philly gets off to slow starts sometimes. Give them time. If he’s playing like this til the end of the season/gets injured again, most likely, but I doubt they’re done on Wentz just yet.

I expect Philly to win also, but I think it's gonna be close. Philly's defense has been pretty bad also.

Zero chance he gets benched this soon. Reality is the Eagles will likely be in the playoff race for a decent chunk of the season if we don't fix issues on our end. As bad as Philly has been, if we lose to Seattle (possible) and they beat the Bengals (possible), we both will have the same record (granted Philly has a rough slate coming up the 3-4 weeks after that).

His contract makes it tough to bench him at this point as well.

The Eagles have a ton of money committed to him. They are going to give him every chance to play out of it. He will keep his job.

The only way that would change is if there is a mutiny within the locker room. All indications are that he's not the most popular guy around.

I expect Philly to beat the Bengals on Sunday. Baker Mayfield and the Browns were even able to get 35 points against them. SO if Wentz and that Philly offense struggles against them, then that's a real bad sign that he is on the decline.

I can only imagine the reaction in Philly if the Eagles lose and do it while Wentz struggles again and makes bad throws.

I looked into his contract and the team is absolutely stuck with him until after the 2021 season. If they were to bench him, I don't think there's any way they could ever go back. So I can't see any way they do anything with him barring injury before the end of the 2021 season. They're stuck.

I feel bad for him, second pick overall in the draft, supposedly savior the of the franchise, playing in a tough city, having to watch his back up lead the team to a Super Bowl victory. His team is having to deal with injuries and he's not off to a very good start, you have to feel for the guy.

No I don't.

He's made nearly $80 million already and hasn't accomplished a damn thing.

Agree - Wentz will bounce back and Eagles will win. If they don't, sports radio in Philly will be gold!

I would be the first to admit that when he came out in the draft I was hoping he would fall to us but knew when the Eagles sent all those picks we had no shot. I am glad now that we didn't give picks to get him. I'll take Dak and Zeke over him any day. I would take Dak over him straight up any day and twice on Sunday. Dak might have some faults talent wise but he is leader, strong worth ethic, and available.

Did the Eagles miss that window to cut his contract down to one year and increase his cap hit?

Doubt they are wanting to pull the plug now, but was always interested in that clause they put in his deal. Add in a QB taken in round 2 this year as well.
