Collins will single handedly tank this season because he most likely thought there would not be a season and decided to not stay in shape.

Having watched around 50 years of football, I can say there is a mental component to injuries. That is, a player heals a lot faster the better his replacement does.

Brett Favre said he never wanted to come out of a game because he got his start when the QB ahead of him got hurt.
Romo got hurt, Dak came in and we all know how that played out.

I have gotten used to the word games the Cowboys play with injuries. When they say someone is a game time decision, that means he is out. The more important the player, the longer he is out. I said last week when they announced Tyron's neck injury he would be out 3-4 weeks. Now we hear that while it was a game time decision last week, it is something the Cowboys will have to manage for a some time. I am not expecting Tyron Smith to play this week. We'll have to wait and see if they play this game then put him on IR down the road.

It is harder to know what is going on with Collins, but it sounds like we should not expect him back for at least another 3 weeks, maybe 4. I am less concerned about Collins because I do think they can put Knight in for him and they will be okay if Tyron is healthy. Steele will get there but he is hanging by a thread right now.

The way things are going I guess we should expect it will look like a strike season before long.

When they (a notoriously cheap front office) offered Jared Veldheer $2.5 million, I kinda knew they were worried about Collins being ready after week 3.

The team has never indicated that the issue is being out of shape.

That all came from Mike Fisher and some other media/pseudo-media repeated it.

Do you really think that a 27 year old athlete needs more than the 4 plus week of camp and another 3 weeks on IR plus the week after coming off IR before the next game to get into shape?

He has an injury.

He had a car wreck and I'm not clear if that had any impact on the injury.

Since all sides ar er being secretive about his problems, we may never know the truth. I saw nothing in the article that actually talked about his injury or problem. He's typically played thru nagging injuries.

not believing writers who dont have an idea of his true progress in rehab..when hes not ready for game 4 then il believe it.. TS could have played last week and they held him out to be sure hes better then rest of the season..

If he didn't want to play this season he could have opted out. Who knows what it is. I have back problems that doctors haven't really been able to diagnose. I'm not a professional athlete but I'm 29, in shape, I workout every day, train BJJ, eat clean, etc. have done physical therapy for it, taken months off, etc. but haven't had any relief. My point being, we don't really know what is wrong with the guy.

for sure these trolls think player purposefully came in out of shape and fakes getting hurt so he doesnt have to play need to delete their accounts..
