*Yeah, I gotta' agree ( other than the senior drill instructor getting their chest blown out in the head after 2400)
Yeah that was Hollywood. During the 2 weeks we spent at the rifle range during boot camp there was a reason that no Drill Instructors were around during that time. That would’ve been the only opportunity.

I remember being shocked in the theater watching the opening scene of Saving Private Ryan. I still cannot re-watch the out of ammo knife fight. I know it's not a movie but Band of Brothers would top my list.
*Man, the very first time I watched that flicks first 5 minutes of the opening scene?,,,CRIPES ALIVE& GARGANTUAN SHEESE!, as I had laid out my M-1 GARAND RIFLE& .30 CAL. M-1 CARBINE both at the foot of the couch,,,MAN, I couldn't even look at 'em in the same "beholding light"& fond warm fuzzyness EVER AFTER.

Yep, think i may watch it again this weekend.
Yep, think i may watch it again this weekend.
*If you watch real close, when there breaking out& issuing more rifle ammunition, you'll notice the historical realism as those .577/450 martini-henry cartridges were of the brass foil wrapped casings type, consisting of 14 different parts per cartridge casing, as compared to their 2nd modified cartridge casing consisting of only 2 parts ( the primer& the single piece of a drawn brass casing),,, yeah, you'll see wrinkles & crinkles in the ammo,as other than having Michael Caine acting & they had to hack thru the farm house walls to escape once their position was overrun, and successive volley fire is all I can recall as to be highlights of the movie.

*Wiki that .577/ 450 snyder round, it's might be of interest to some trigger pulling affectionados
