Very good post.

Two things i want to say

1. I think we can sign aldon.
2. I dont think Seattle is one of the best teams in the nfc. They are a good team but not one of the best.

It's still early, but Wilson is looking like a legitimate MVP Candidate. The NFC West is best division in football, Seattle will be in the conversation if they do go on and win their division.

Both Aldon Smith and Everson Griffen are highly unlikely to return next season. They both received team friendly deals. A player like Aldon, even at his age if he continues to produce is going to command a huge contract. With the cap going down, team needing to resign their QB, it's not happening!

I agree with everything you said here are some additional thoughts

1, Dak, like you mentioned is JUST OK.. not the ELITE QB some fools here want him to be
2. Amari, CeeDee, Gallup.. some of them will be gone... wont be able to retain all 3
3. The pass defense i a joke and will be HEAVILY Exploited in games to come
4. Special teams are absurdly awful!

There IS NO way, THIS TEAM, as it currently is, will make a deep playoff run. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a legitimate idiot

It's crazy, with all the mistakes yesterday, they still had a chance to tie the game with their final drive.

-Pollard needs to be replaced as the team's ko returner, he has hurt the team with his decisions.
-Brandon Carr needs to be inserted into the starting lineup as a safety, at least he will be in position and not blow assignments.
-Team cannot be successful if they are always playing catch-up.

Surrendering 39 and 38 points in the last 2 outings is not just mental mistakes ... that's a Monte Kiffin type defense all over again
and morale victories don't show up in the standings ...

Our QB gift wrapped 14 points, our special teams attributed another 4 with a safety and 2 missed extra points. The prior week, the offense had 3 fumbles in their territory. The Defense has been bad, but the rest of the team is attributing to these losses.

This team also is not well coached

- Nolan's defense gave up 15 points in the 2nd half ..including yet another deep shot to Metcalf for a TD..and further more yet of these WIDE open, blown coverage 2 point conversion ..so how is that adjusting ?

- Russell brought team back to make the score 38 to 31 .. including an easy last drive TD ..with zero pressure and all day to throw to Metcalf ..and a safety
on Metcalf at that ? ..

15 points, where the offense started the half giving up the ball inside the redzone with the fumble by Dak that led to 7 points. Last TD was bad, but they did play well in the 2nd half. The same thing happened against Atlanta, they gave up 10 points.

You saw the difference today between a winning QB (Wilson) and someone who just puts up nice numbers (Prescott).

Wilson is a legitimate top 5 QB in this league, Dak is solid, but not anywhere as good.

-Cannot beat yourselves and expect to beat a quality opponent, especially when your defense just cannot create any turnovers. Dak had two terrible plays in this game that attributed to 14 points. A QB simply cannot throw an interception in his side of the field, prior to half, worst case they get no points, but cannot give up 7 in that fashion. He also gifted wrapped another TD to start the second half. I can care less about all the gaudy passing stats, he hurt his team today, the other QB didn't!

-Special Teams continues to be a major weakness of this team. Two missed . extra points, Polland getting stopped at the 1 that led to a safety. Those 4 points could of made the team only needing a FG to tie.

-Thought Mike Nolan did well with his 2nd half adjustments again. Liked how the OL Coach didn't wait and benched Steele for poor play.

-Probably the worst safety play I was seen in a real long time. I believe that the Cowboys have the worst starting duo in the entire league. Team really needs another high-end CB starter to pair up with Diggs for the future. I think by season's end, Diggs is going to be a star for our defense.

-It's going to be nearly impossible to resign Aldon Smith, 4 sacks in the first 3 games and he wasn't played in several years.

-Shout out to Cedric Wilson, had the game of his life!

Disappointed in today's loss, but it shows that we can legitimately compete against one of the best teams in the conference. Clean up the mental mistakes, get better on special teams and this team has a chance!

Smith will re-sign here happily. We gave him an opportunity when no one else would.

Remember all those lost wages, it is going to want to cash in!

He'll want a fair deal for sure. But he and his agent likely understand that given his past, he's not getting a ton of guaranteed money.

.....Pay Earl Thomas, get the guy in here. This is coming from someone who was strongly against it. But those kids at safety are instinct dead out there.
Yeah, I’ve said that Thomas can’t have anything left if no team wants him. He can’t be good anymore.

But he can’t be worse than who they have out there now. And if there is a chance that he’s actually better, then why not.

the offense despite their turnover in 1st half also finally started opening it up to score the chunk of points to close the deficit and take the lead of 31-30 ..but
the defense persist to give up the final deciding TD ...that final TD the defense gave up means they didn't/couldn't hold down Seattle offense that decided the game ..means they didnt play well in 2nd half ..imo.

As it's been for many years, the offense needs to play clean or they lose. The defense and special teams just aren't good enough if the offense struggles in anyway.

Couple thoughts

1. DAK didn't play perfect dude made 2 mistakes (costly)....still had a great game...
2. Steele didn't get benched like we all thought.....MM said the dude was fighting Food poison before the game took IV to try and play....just to sick to continue.
3. Like the in-game adjustments the coaches made....something we haven't seen here in Dallas in 10years

OFFENSE

Even with a makeshift decimated OL, its saying something that this offense can put up 31 and 40 points respectively

QUARTERBACKS- Dak had 400 yrd passing on incredible 57 attempts, and had a much better 2nd half when offense finally opened up and took deeper shots downfield to help close deficit and take lead, but he also had 3 turnovers in this game too.

RUNNING BACK - Zeke had a goal line TD but he only ran for 34 yards on just 14 carries with a long carry of just 9 yards, former burst is just not there anymore.... i don't recall Pollard in offense at all ..typical Kellen; Pollard snuffed out of plan.

WIDE RECEIVER - Gallup really came on in the 2nd half and came up with several big catches including TD, Ceddy Wilson had two huge catch/run for 2 TDs ,career game for him. Lamb hurt his ankle and was out last two drives for us. Cooper was very busy early in game before team went to gallup down stretch. Brown has had some tough underneath catches but couldn't make the 2 point catch.

TIGHT END Schultz had another solid outing with 4 catches for 48 yrds ,despite a poor route on first drive of game

OFFENSIVE LINE - Terrence Steele had dehydration problems due to stomach bug and apparently coaches feel he could be effective to the game and was replaced by Zack Martin who moved out to RT , and played well doing so.
- i still think Williams is struggling too much, and there's failing in the inside run, ..which again seems like that's all we run. - -
- Though he gave up a sack in final drive, i thought Brandon Knight did an admirable job for most part.
- Looney is not capable of getting in space on RB screens, his play has been decent- average; i never know why he's eager to
double help on Martin, but hardly Williams

DEFENSE

I thought there was one true stand out on Defense which as a whole was awful.

DEFENSIVE LINE
- Aldon smith had 3 sacks and was the only force on the front seven, but a guy out of football for 4 years was also gassed out
vs Seattle's final drives in 4th. Only DE showing up.

- Everson Griffin was hand down per coach change but he was still ineffective and non factor- i think he needs to be
exclusively RDE and occasional inside.
- I'm assuming that knee injury has limited DLaw based off lesser snaps this game. who wasn't

- Poe may be slowly getting his steam back as he was just a bit more anchored than last 2 weeks i'm startled why he was in on pass downs though.
- Woods played his best game vs Hawks, he was aided by Aldons' hurry for his credited sack.. Need him to connect
as a goal line FB.

- Hill was stuck on too many blocks as interior push was very little, only 1 tackle and a killer flag for roughing QB.
- i saw Crawford running around, but making no plays. Armstrong was pure JAG as usual.
- Shame pity rookies Anae and Gallimore made non-factors per coaches.

LINEBACKERS -
-Jaylon was average not horrible as previous 2 weeks but still average much of his tackles were too often on his side
don't think we used him per blitzing cuz of fear of Russell - Flag for pushing TE out bounds was BS by officials.
- J. Thomas had a decent game- not any standout plays, not surrendering plays either

SECONDARY- this has to be among worst DB units in NFL. Sure there's injuries but starters and ex-starters have been an embarrassment of blown coverages and personnel just flat surrendering catches and wide open big plays
- CB Diggs continues to get beaten deep per 3 straight games -will his lack of long speed be a long term issue ? but his upper cut punch fumble that prevented a bomb TD by Metcalf is indication of his turnover capability.
- CB Worley was other starter and his killer flag on 3rd down did not help matters, WRs Tyler Lockett basically did want him wanted vs Worley and others,
CB - Lewis again was plagued by handsy grabby penalties once he's beaten, .but he had a sack negated by penalty
FS - Woods was awful, for whatever reason, he is playing deep half terribly as wide open WRs are getting by him and Thompson with greatest of ease, and why is he not showing up or making plays ?
SS- Thompson - like woods, he looked lost and several times over matched - does his best work attached vs man than in space

SPECIAL TEAMS
For all his rep, i havent been impressed with Bone Fassel's work thus far this year ..at least kick coverage has been adequate.
kicker Zurlein muffing extra points,..and Pollard's KO's have been str8 comedy show ..at least there wasn't the fake punts this week.

COACHING

McCARTHY- his staff is having issues and challenges; Kellen sometimes conservatism, Bones special teams marks, Nolan's defense is awful, but his position coaches at WR, OL and TE may be showing up more. MM himself will have to choose when
to step into an issue (defense) and when to let his coordinators - Hes been daring on 2 point tries and not getting them.
His team is still fighting and clawing to the end, but that's 2 losses and a "lucky" melon-spin to pull out only win

Kellen- His play calling was bizarre and puzzling - .conservative dink dunk early start ?....option pitch 2 plays in a row ?. jet sweeps at our own 5 yrd line ? ..questionable timely flip reverses ? .. but Moore did finally open it up and took some deep and vertical shots in pass game, and with Dak/WRs came back to pull ahead 31-to-30 ..and amassed 570 yds.

-Nolan's unit has been horrible from the get go, and DL has been limited, secondary hideous, LBs average,

- Phiibin deserves credit for moving Martin to RT while Steele was sick. While run game has suffered, and guys like Williams
and Looney had struggles, Knight has mostly shown well, and Biadiaz stepped in adequately while Looney moved to RG.
Despite makeshift OL

As I was saying in another response, the offense almost has to play mistake free for this team to be successful as the defense never gets turnovers and our special teams always forces our offense to drive long fields.
