Looking at some of the highest paid players on the roster. Tyron Smith, D Law, Zeke, Amari, etc. The little to no productivity this season from these players. You can't win when your salary cap is top heavy in unproductive talent.

The union will never go for it, but the only way to end garbage like that is to put in a 'pay for performance' system. Give them motivation and incentive to actually try to do their jobs.

Lets use a receiver for example, what incentive is there for him to run a great route and fight for a ball under the current system? They can quit on any play (or all of them) and they will still get their check.

are you high Cooper 2nd in receiving amongst WRs nearly 100 a game, Zeke was hot and they game planned him out of the game last Sunday but hes still 8th in rushing right now..TS is hurt and will be back. Maybe could have played the last 2 weeks coaches held him out

you might want actually have facts when you post

but good observation wherever you got your info at..

it wont happen because say player like zeke where the OC game planned to throw 50times and barely gave zeke actual quality carries and what about the OL, you cant be productive if things around you arent right..

it will never happen how about those that go to IR ? no freaking way it will ever even be in a discussion.. far too much goes into agame to pay a player like that.. you can add bonus and incentive to make more but it will never be production only..

This is crap.

Lawrence isn't playing like people want but he's not unproductive. He's producing and he's been our best pass rusher.
Zeke had a bad game but he's produced.
Cooper has produced every game he's played in.
Jaylon had produced but admittedly he's not playing as good as we hoped.

Fact of the matter is this team has sucked and it starts at the top and the coaches don't seem to have this team prepared which we knew would be the case.

can you imagine the collusion that could happen if the high paid player's who were on production deals had their owners tell the coaches to not play them to save money..IT WILL NEVER HAPPEN..

IMO zeke didnt have bad game it was the way he was used like sporadically no flow they game plan was to throw and they abandoned the run

I know it would never happen, and its unfortunate. Too many players disappear once they get their big contract signed. They're not all like that, but there are certainly a fair amount of them who do.

Yes, injuries make that a difficult proposal, but there could be things put in place to make sure the players get compensated while they deal with their injuries.

....im not buying it. Dlaw is only one that can be accounted for. Even saying that, he has the most QB pressures on the team. Just bad luck not getting there.

Tyron - hurt
DL - bad contract (from the day it was signed)
Zeke - beasting
Amari - 89 YPG (not bad considering there are 3 #1 WR's)

So in my opinion to say little to no productivity from those players is incorrect.

"DLaw sucks!"

"So why is he still being double teamed?"

"Well.... the opponents must suck too!!"

The big issue on defense is the lack of offseason/preseason.

This. Pay structure should be built around minute details of a player's performance. For receivers, have a set amount per catch, per each yard after the catch, per good route, per touchdown catch, per blocks, etc. Difficult catches or catches made in pressure moments rate a little extra $. If a star player doesn't handle the ball much for whatever reason, just tac on a percentage increase for any contribution they make so they still feel incentive to perform. Basically what it boils down to, is the NFL needs to implement a "Virtual Currency" earnings system like in 2k but with real money.

should have one for the QB. Any time he throws a hospital pass or behind the receiver his pay should go directly to the rest of the team given their "per play pay rate", whatever that may be depending on how many plays occurred in a game.

Blueblood, love ya, but Zeke is top 3 RB in the league, so 8th is good? Tyron is ALWAYS hurt and they held him back and that is good? Coop is fine, we love him. DLaw is fine just not disruptive. That's not the problem.
OL is very average, defense is just pathetic (turnovers, hurries, pressures, 3rd downs, you name it) they are horrible.
I'll be surprised if they beat Cleveland.

I think some of you are missing the point. For the kind of money we are paying for that top tier, we should be getting consistent Top 5 play, not what we are getting now.

The saddest thing of all is this thread. Cooper, Zeke and Smith have deserved their contracts and have balled.

Keep it simple. Nothing is guaranteed except for the signing bonus. No need for anything else.

Zeke and Amari have no production now?
You may want to watch the games and come stronger next time.
Tyron Smith is injured....
The only one you can say is D Law.

Zeke had one bad game last week and Amari has had 25 catches for 267 yards which is the most catches and yards by any Cowboys receiver in franchise history after the first three games. You actually think he’s been unproductive?
