Once again stats are kind of meaningless.

Week 1 - three points scored in second half. The much maligned defense has us leading at halftime and also gave up 7 pts second half.
the offense did lose this game in 2nd half, and not tying the game with a fg was on MM
Week 2 - if the falcons had competent ppl on special teams all those late yards by dak against prevent d would have been for nothing.
I give the offense credit here, the comeback and 27 points put them in position for the onside kick win
Week 3 - the main reason we even had to come back was the poor defense.... but our quarterback was responsible for 14 pts because of turnovers.
The 2 turnovers by dak did help lose this close game, again though bad coaching and bad game plan
it’s awesome to have the number 1 offense. I’d rather have wins. Ppl blame the defense for our start. Week 1 they did they’re job. Week 2 it was the offense turning the ball over one million times that put us in that position.

Dallas has proven that a team and qb can have great stats, but at same time be ineffective, and lose most close games.
I thought the coaching and game plans would be better with MM but so far he doesnt look too good.
And kellen just isnt ready to be a OC. Much like JG he was promoted too soon.

And I know the off season sucked, but it sucked for all teams, and all teams have injury's this season, The cowboys coaching staff gets
a D in most areas, and a F in others, so far they suck.
The one thing they are doing is adjusting things , which is good.
The defense is bad at times, but I think most of that is on scheme and coaching , so maybe people were right about Nolan.
The Offense, most of it again is on coaching, kellen and MM need to adjust to what they have, and not try to just do what looks good
on paper.
Amari gets too many targets , even though he seems to be hurting , Cedrik looked great , but probably wont get but a couple of plays this week.
Elliot, jerry pays him most ever for a RB, but now MM and boy genius dont use him enough or in the right ways.
They are both way too pass happy, and just throw in runs at random times, with no thought behind it.

I expected to see a competent team and coaching this season, but so far it is like jerry hired the 3 stooges to coach this team .
On to cleveland game and I can hear Curly saying woo woo woo!:p

The number one offense in the NFL with a 1 - 2 record?

That's about as bad as the Egals being out half a game from first place with no wins. Gotta love 2020.

Yards are a poor metric. They've played well enough to win every game and poorly enough to lose every game. As shaky as the defense is the offense and special teams have put them in a lot of tough spots.

the defense is jacked.

Ranked in the bottom 3rd of the league in almost every category that can have a category.

Right but TOs and missed 4th downs and fake punts and whatever in the heck Pollard did on Sunday counts as have made their job a lot harder. In the only game where they didn't get completely jobbed by the offense they gave up 20 points. Even Sunday as bad as they played on defense, they had a run where it looked a lot better but the offense basically handed Seattle 16 points. It's a team failure right now IMO. All levels need to improve a bit and they might be alright.

LOL

So I believe Dak meant that he at least needed an actual number 2 or 2 to make that work. Not a bunch of scrap and a limited slot WR with a glacial Witten(edit: Actually he didn't even have that, he had a bunch of unproven te's if memory serves)

Oh, and he is leading the league in passing yards with a patchwork offensive line in front of him so far this year. So much for needing to be surrounded by "elite talent" to succeed.

You, Dak and Stephen believing it now after it failed miserably and comically is not something to pat your back on.

And we are 1-2 and leading the league in passing yards, against secondaries that are utter garbage and man-coverage and one safety is nothing to write home about, because he’s still surrounded by elite talent and playing garbage defenses. And he’s still not number 1 in scoring points and actually scoring when not down by at least three scores and defenses get lackadaisical.

Even guys like Matt Ryan at number 3, who has an even worse OL and squad is really nothing to write home about for Dak, especially when Foles came right in and threw three TDs against the same Falcons secondary. I guess Foles is elite with the Bears too!

When you have a team that is ranked higher in yards than they are in points scored that typically points to poor starting field position.
The poor average field position can be a result of a low number of takeaways.

In other words, the Cowboys are getting more yardage because they have to earn everything they get.

I will bet, and it's probably obvious, that the Cowboys rank extremely low on drives that begin in an opponents territory.

Think about it. When drafting players in a fantasy football league, you look for a qb with good to decent WR corps, porous defense, and turnover prone. This is the recipe for a high scoring qb in fantasy football but 8-8 in the NFL.

With that logic why not say all of the players contracts and admit that you're only a fair weather fans.

Blah, blah, blah.

Not a fair weather fan. Have been on these boards with the old timers since the beginning including the original forums from Starpower and others. Been her since the Compuserve/AOL days. I expect better from our once strong and proud franchise.

Saying how long you've been on boards doesn't mean you're not a fair weather fan. There are users here that have been on multiple boards for many years that have only left negative comments about the Cowboys and still proclaim to be Cowboys fans.

Yards are great. Points are better. Sometimes getting tons of yards is a reflection that your defense is never giving you a short field.

If our defense doesn't get it together, it's going to be a pretty rough year.

Until this Defense can get the opposition to score maybe just 24 or less it’s basically throwing the baby out with the bath water.

This is a clear illustration of how important a very good - great defense is and the impact it makes on winning games.

Clearly you are not familiar with my posting history. I can critique my team when they do something stupid and praise when the do something great. That is what a message board is for. Sharing opinions and ideas. You can go F yourself with the fair weather fan crap.

Stupid kids...
