Need a young player who will be afraid to spend any time in the tent.

This will tell us if Jerry cares about this season. If he signs him, we know he still wants to compete in 2020. If not, he’s building for the future and letting m m fill the team out and see who he wants.
It's very possible that's the case. Let the season play out and see which players to keep and where they need help or replacements. Jimmy did that and even had Michael Irvin tell him the ones to let go and keep.

This defense is garbage across the board, led by a garbage DC. Jerry doesn't make changes on the fly. This season is already about our position next draft.

Tell me how Snacks, at this point in his career, will be any better than Poe...
People just love to fantasize and drool over names. They were saying the same thing about Poe and Griffen until the season started.

This scheme has to go. MM should tell Nolan, now i've paid you back for hiring me, I let you work, now it's time to go.

I would be all for it, but I just don't think the issues with the D is that much of a talent thing. Right now it's about scheme, discipline, and heart.
Rod is no genius, but he had Ds with less talent never roll up and die like we saw today.

agree. To me it seems like the DE’s are lined up in a 4i or 4 tech and are getting washed down real easy. The edges seems to be easy to gain in their alignment. They are definitely too tight in my opinion. We don’t have bad defensive line players and I would agree it is the scheme.

The defensive scheme is trash. Conservative scheme. Leaving guys wide open with zero pass rush. Can't even stop the run. I mean if I was the DC and we played the browns what would you rather die by? Letting them run all over you? or Forcing Baker to beat you by passing the ball?

I mean we should of sold out to stop the run at all cause. Yet we allowed 307 yards rushing lol. That's crazy.

I don't think one player is going to make much of a difference

It’s amazing how the signings looked great on paper, and now they’re completely useless

A reason to think that the coaching is a large part of the problem, and maybe most of it.

We've had a more bargain basement roster before and not gotten rolled like this.

But some of it is clearly the roster, and management should take much of the blame for that. I saw Jaylon looking more and more enfeebled last year. It was there to see. Lawrence not producing *before* his signing, and then yanking Jerry around with his shoulder injury come contract time. Crawford shouldn't have been kept *last* year at the price. Incompetence to pay him the same this year.

And I'm going off of what I see in games. They see them up close and personal, with doctors and trainers to evaluate them. No excuse for them not knowing more, and not acting accordingly.

You are batting 1.000 on this post brother. I would have cut Crawford, and I would have flipped Tank for picks. I have been on that wagon for some time. Tank robbed the bank. When a guy does nothing but talk about getting paid run like hell from that player.

Maybe we could have still flipped Tank this year (does he seem like a tank to anyone? Maybe some tank known for limited firepower and breaking down.) We'd have to pay for someone to take a guaranteed year of Tank now.

I just wish that Jerry stops being a GM and let a real GM do the work. If I had all that money, I would hire the best coaches money can buy, and let McCray take care of football operations such as GM duties. The reason why we are severally under-talented and under-coached on defense is because of Jerry.
