Don’t be surprised if Dak wants to leave

If Dak wants to be ruthless he could just use this season to build up AMAZING stats. Just air it out as he has been doing and earn a bucket load on the open market. A team would seriously overpay him even though he wouldn't be as good as his lofty numbers would suggest.

It's interesting as we will genuinely find out if he's all about the money...I'm unsure what he will decide.
Isn't that what he did last season? ...joking joking :D
This D is so bad, Dak is the least of our problems (cept paying him maybe)

sure go on. they did as good as pad prescott.
And so will the next several QB's.
I do agree with not paying the guy insane money though.

I think he's better than many, but not enough to take a giant bite out of the cap.
No way.

But you know me, I like poking you in the belly.

Imagine Dak wanting to leave Ceedee, Gallup, Cooper & Zeke....

No QB has had it easier in their career.

I can't wait for Chad Hutchinson 2.0 to take us to the promised land.

No man! It'll be more like when New England sent Bledsoe our way and kept Tommy B. Maybe Big Mac got a plan that involves his old friend Brett Favre?

look around the league who needs a quarterback and who will give him 40+.

Colts, Bears, Washington, Denver?

why would anyone want him at that contract?

Hard to know what the exact final numbers will be. But guaranteed he gets a massive deal on the free agent market if it ever happens.

FWIW reports are he was willing to accept 35 million APY this past off season for 5 years if the Jones agreed to not tag him after the deal expired.

I think the cowboys should have taken that deal. 35 mil for 5 was fair given the market.

Hate to say it as a Cowboys fan- But If I was Dak, I would want out of this dysfunctional organization. Especially if I wanted to win a ring most of all. He’s going to make a ton of money if he stays or leaves. If you were prioritizing winning a ring most, why would anyone want to stay here? I wish all that weren’t true. But with this owner, what’s going to change?

One of my brothers in law lives in Denver and is a huge Broncos fan. He says they would love to have Dak. I have a friend who’s vikes fan and he says they would way prefer Dak over Cousins. The list of teams that would want him if he ever leaves here would be more than a couple.

Too many Cowboys Fans here are spoiled by the great QBs we’ve had over the years. Going all the way back to the 60s, fans in Dallas drove Dandy Don Meredith to retirement, despite a really good career. We’ve had two Hall of Famers in Roger and Troy. Some fans act like all you have to do is tank and draft the kid from Clemson, like that’s some kind of guarantee of success.

Too many fans here expect not only excellent play from their QB. They expect perfection. He must carry the team, on both sides of the ball and do all that for less than market value. It’s almost pathetic at this point. Dak isn’t perfect, but the level of criticism that guy takes is laughable. And the price tag for him isn’t going down. Here or somewhere else. If you’re mad at his price tag, that’s how the NFL market works. It’s not the real world.
This should be posted on the bulletin board and required reading before we enter The Zone.

nobody will be able to have a competitive team with some guy who is average wanting elite money.

I posted the same thing about Romo before he signed his last extension. Coincidentally, the year he signed, the Cowboys fielded the worst D in franchise history. At least until this current group said hold our beer.

Same stuff, different QB.

yep let's see him go to another team with less talent on the offense, that should be funny. Pad would be on the bench pretty fast.

Who cares. We are 1 - 3 right now. We should be 0 - 4. Without a defense it doesn't matter we still won't have a winning record. Lol were the worst team in the league and people are worried about Dak leaving.

I hear you but it depends on the offer.

Imagine if a team offered 3 firsts and a 2nd. No guarantee Lawrence will be a franchise QB.
draft picks are not sure things but you dont pass on a generational QB

It is not Dak's choice to leave or to stay, it is up to the Cowboys. Nobody is going to get into a bidding war for Dak, he will command an above avg contract but not an elite one. If Dallas decides to move on from Dak they will probably be looking at someone high in the draft with Dalton probably sticking around for a year or two. Dak will most likely lose a few sponsors from not wearing the star on his helmet.

If I’m Dak I finish off the season and hit the open market somewhere else...can everything turn around, sure it’s possible. But let’s be honest, this team is bad, the coaches are bad, the front office is delusional...This team needs a complete overhaul...

I wouldn’t be surprised if Jerry gets greedy again and wants to play the tag game once again.

People hate on Dak, including myself but let’s be honest, the talent around him has been overrated for years because they play for the Cowboys. We don’t develop players ever, in fact they get worse!

If your Dak it’s probably better to take a chance in the open market.

Would have probably been the best thing Romo could have done for his career. Go somewhere where they play defense and the pressure is not all on the quarterback to play perfectly.

That's not up to the cowboys any more. They can realistically franchise next year but the third year is prohibitively expensive. Dak can force a salary of 38ish million for next year and that leaves little for FAs or draft picks unless they rework more more contracts. Honestly, if I was Dak, I'd bail.

lol. How can you say it’s not up to them and say they can franchise him in the same breath?

I think they'd be stupid to pass on lawrence. That being said i think the giants could actually win a game or two this year. The jets not so much. The jets division is much better than ours. They're in the same boat and would probably take lawrence.

Was going to say, so far dimes has done nothing to stop them from taking Lawrence so far. If keeps playing like he has they will go ahead and tell Lawrence to get his bags packed for NY by game 14 at this rate.
