This offense is a nightmare to defend with the 3 WR's they can put out there and Shultz is definitely benefiting from that.

Having said that, he is doing his part and then some to take advantage of that and is balling.

That td catch last game was balling

Schultz was not drafted as a blocking TE and he's also not particularly good. Don't confuse volume with talent.

 It was listed as a strength by most scouting reports.

Perhaps most in Schultz’s favor is his tenacity and willingness to block. It’s no secret what the Cowboys require of their TEs, and perhaps what has most held back players like Jarwin and Gathers and the several other prospects the team has attempted to develop alongside Witten. Dallas TEs play a huge role in their run game, and need to be plus blockers. Schultz’s blocking abilities are a big reason why many draft analysts were so high on his selection.

Absolutely. He has made quite a few 'baller' type plays so far.

He is taking the opportunity and running with it, or should I say catching and running with it.

No drama at all, and not pumping anyone up.

Romo got robinson a contract at his next team, and then he didnt do anything. Romo got dez his contract with back shoulder throws for touchdowns. Dez had very limited routes. After T.O. was gone and Austin actually got a chance, Romo got him a contract, and then he did nothing.

Lol. Did Dak get Cobb a contract? And Dez being a bust if not for Romo is the silliest thing I’ve heard. You guys will say anything. And for the record Romo is my favorite football player of all time.

I never said dez was a bust. I said Romo being good at the back shoulder throw got dez his contract. If you take away that, you take away most of what Dez did. He lead in touchdowns, and that is what got him his money.

in 8 seasons, dez had 3 1000+ yards seasons. His first 2 seasons he had WR 2 or 3 numbers. Then he had 3 seasons with 1000+ and a ton of TD's. He got his contract because of those TD's, and then was done.

Gallup is going to have a better career than dez, besides the td's those 3 seasons

I didn’t say you said he was a bust. That’s not possible to say. You said he’d have been a bust if not for Romo, which is just idiotic. All that only good because of the back shoulder fade ish is revisionist as hell. Dez was one of the best and most brutal RAC guys in the league.

Gallup with a better career than Dez? Lol. You’re a wild boy, I gotta remember not to engage with you

He also had a fumble against ATL, and a poor route/drop against Seattle that should have been a touchdown (or real close to it).

He is the product of all the weapons around him - there are probably 20 TEs in the league who could do the same thing .

You’re the product of a poor school system.

I never said bust. Find the quote on that. I said romo got dez his contract because of those back shoulder throw td's, and made him look good.

I said besides the TD's on those 3 years Gallup will have a better career. Gallup already has a 1000 yard season. If he continues the rate he is on he will this season too.

You have the revisionist viewpoint. Dez was a 1 trick pony with 3 season that were amazing, and 5 that were subpar. Name another WR with a good career who only had 3 1000+ seasons.

@Loso86 this is why you give rookie opportunities to showcase their skill sets.

Francis Bernard > Every other LB on this roster
Dalton is not a rookie tho, and when he did play as one he wasnt very good. I hear what your saying tho. Cant play every rookie early

Schultz is a little better after the catch than I expected. Kind of refreshing after years of Gavin Escobar, Geoff Swaim, etc. I mean I know Witten was great at what he did, but we haven't had a tight end show a lot of athleticism like Jarwin

This is why you shouldn't get too hyped up about these inflated numbers.

Schultz is playing well but relax on the numbers unless you're playing fantasy football.

Yup, definitely inflated because of Dak and this team playing from behind. Schultz is an average talent.

Robinson, Austin, and Bryant are all romo made. If it was not for Romo being the best in the league at the back shoulder play, and that being pretty much the only thing bryant was good at, he would have been a bust. Austin battled with sam hurd for 2 or 3 years to even make the team, and I still liked hurd better.

Romo was a good QB. But people here give him too much credit.

Same could be said about Romo wouldn't have succeeded if he didn't have Witten.

I was wrong on him. He just didn’t look like a player and it bothered me the team didn’t think he could block or pass catch. He looks solid. Him, Noah Brown and Cedric Wilson may be the biggest surprises this season.

get the O line fixed and some run blocking and we can hang with anyone.

problem is D and getting too cute on ST

Lol. These are your words, no? You can’t even remember what you said in this thread a few posts ago, so I’m not giving your memory much credit.

Agree to disagree my man.
