We should have tried to trade him last year. The guy can't stay on the field. This is the problem with the Cowboys. They keep paying players that on paper have potential but for whatever reason can't get or stay on the field.

T-Smith LTs have to be drafted, they dont grow on trees, and no team drops them.
He also signed a very team friendly very long term contract that Jerry likes to refer to as the First Bank of Jerry.
They have been borrowing off that friendly structure for years now.

he has a lot of football left.

they need to protect his career.
I openly agree that OTs are always a premium concern, but development takes some time with later round OL.
I dont believe we have been taken to the woodshed with what we have invested in depth just yet, but there is a major youth movement taking place ,, rather by attrition, age, injury..etc..
T-Smiths injury concerns are manageable at his tenure, just time for the young guns on the OL to start learning the ropes, this will be a learning process.. theres that word again.

They need to bump LOT higher on the do to list. But, I would keep Tyron here as long as he wants to be here. We've been relatively spoiled with Flo Adams and Tyron Smith for the greater part of two decades. Obviously, with Smith being the better of the two

It is time to move on from Smith. He has been great, but his dominating years came at a cost...his health.

You’re forgetting. He’s already been missing his tackles. And the offense didn’t seem to hindered. Last season he was missing Gallup and amari on top of his 2 tackles. Big difference. Also Tyron is a left tackle. Not picking on you just pointing out you said 2 right tackles.
some of them look lie they have two left feet, does that count?

I say move Connor Williams to left tackle (his more natural position) and see what you’ve got. We’re almost in tank mode anyways so what’s the difference?

If they wanted to tank, why not just let Dak walk and not commit $32 million to him under the franchise tag?

Why would you pay your QB $32 million if you wanted to tank?
Because Jerry is not dumb he's going to keep trying to sell merchandise and he still holds the cards with Dak he could get something back in a trade all while getting to the top of the draft. He didn't get to where he is by not knowing how to sell people salt and telling them it's sugar.

0% chance this team gets a top 3 pick. The East is bad enough for at least 4 wins. They’ll finish with 5-6 wins at worst
Brother we're possibly on 2 backup tackles starting and gaping hole for a defense. I think you're being generous in saying 5-6 wins, we just made the Browns look like the 92 Buffalo Bills bro, it's time to face the harsh reality.

Time to draft a LT. Been time.

O-lineman and Defense in the next draft, That is it. Nothing else is needed at the moment.

Should have traded Tyron Smith for several high draft picks several years ago when he still had very high value and wasn't so injury prone.

All summer and early fall I was fearful of no season. Now?

Well....they can cancel and I wouldn't be heartbroken. I guess we'll call it practice for next year?

Sucks because he looked really good vs the Browns.

maybe its a blessing in disguise....we all have known its about time to start finding other offensive tackles..instead of every week wondering if Smith can make it....Smith is a total beast one of our best of all time but he should consider his own health too

It's a sad note here to finally admit Tyron isn't likely to play much longer. This is something that our FO should have admitted and acted upon long ago. Their MO is, unfortunately, inclined to use ailing players as long as possible, despite knowing that they're done. Tyron has been a real soldier, though, throughout it all.

The Cowboys are the extreme polar opposite of how smart teams operate. Our clueless FO aspires to operate like the Patriots, despite lacking the astute knowledge, nor the honest inclinations to ever come close. It's sad situation but one that isn't likely to change anytime soon.
