I see everyone is already counting this week as a victory. I would not be one bit surprised if that is not the case. And I am not a pessimistic Cowboys fan or someone who likes to stir the proverbial pot.
Why do I think we could be in for a huge disappointment?......TURNOVERS and no pass rush.
If we do what we have shown we are so WONT to do , and also give Jones the time needed to operate...we are leaving ourselves wide open.
Good Lord I hope we win but right now anything can and has happened.

Fans can be overconfident

but the players have no business being 1-3 and being overconfident

I actually think we win but its going to be a shootout

ny will score more tds in one half vs us then they’ve scored all season

You think NY will score 4 or more TDs in the first half?

The fans don't play, so there is that. And I think they are going to lose anyway. The Cowboys have the worst defense in the league and I don't believe they can stop anyone. The Giants are drooling over the chance to face this defense. If you are Garrett the biggest problem you have is choosing whether to run or pass knowing you will be success doing either. The only chance they have is that Garrett is terrible a game plans. He does not care who he is facing he just calls the same plays and expects his team to execute. So perhaps he will not pick on Jaylon Smith the way other teams have so far this year. Then again, who on the defense can make a play? The Cowboys are going to save Garrett's job this week as the Giants offense racks up 24 to 30 points against the Dallas defense.

To be honest, I think the Cowboys will show up this Sunday. We have the perfect storm of events leading up to this game. The defense has been called out, embarrassed, compared to ladies, female deer, and talk show hosts. Men usually respond to that. At the same time they are facing a struggling offense. I think Dallas wins this week and not in a shootout. As far as the rest of the season goes, I have little confidence.

Fans are overconfident.

Players simply don’t care.

Putting your faith into something that you have no control over/into someone/something that doesn’t care is putting all your eggs in a faulty 1000 yr old basket.

Being a fan of this Dallas team will get you killed.

Let me put it this way. Daniel Jones will not have a reason to sign the locker room wall. Nor Garrett. :muttley:

Losing this week wouldn’t be a bad thing..

Dallas has no hope at a Super Bowl this year and that is all I really care about.. I can’t get on board with silver lining seasons.

So for that reason I just would like to see us get as high of a draft pick as possible and hopefully land Trevor Lawrence..

Nothing would be worse then being terrible and not getting him. That should be the trophy we chase right now and by 2022 hopefully you can compete again at a championship level.

The next 2 seasons are lost and possibly more if we sign Dak.

I believe the saying goes..

"On any given Sunday.."

I have to admit our 1st 4 games have been against serious contenders for post season playoff positions.

And we competed right to the end staying within winnable distance at the 2 minute warning in every loss.

Having to have to lose like that is habit forming. We all saw too much of that in 2019.

So overconfidence hardly seems possible.

But you are right there is no room to assume anything..especially with the Giants and Garrett's knowledge of where to attack this defense.

To me I look at under-confidence as the problem. That "here we go again" feeling is the danger to avoid.

I said in another post that the team needs to relax and just play the scheme the coaches want. They have to execute the game plan and not get caught thinking too much.

Easier said than done.

But until they get back missing starters and plug them in..we just have no way of knowing if it's the scheme that is the problem..

or we just do not have the players to succeed.

As for our offense..the OL is so injured we only have one guy who is a starter..Martin. The rest of the positions are all 1st and 2nd year players.

I can not recall when we have had BOTH LINES so injured like this. It is seemingly some nightmare we need to wakeup from.

I think there's zero chance of us getting him. This is still a 6-8 win team. There are at least a handful of teams in the NFL who will do worse than us (at least 2 within our own division). I still think we will win this Division based on remaining schedule, so let's hope the ship has righted by then so we're not embarrassed in the playoffs.

Overconfidence is a natural condition in Dallas. It is a big problem. The player comfort level is very, very high in that locker room.

Dak lives in your head 24/7. That must be difficult. The odds of Barbie being a Cowboy are slim, with or without Dak in Dallas.

I'm honestly approaching the rest of the games that way.

I'm not all that interested in a season of winning by far the worst division in football and possibly in league history only the get smacked in the playoffs and listen to the two clowns tell themselves and everyone how close we are.

This team is extremely far away from competing for a championship.

As far as tomorrow, I just dont think NY has enough to get it done. Dallas will show up enough to win, and probably cover the 8.5

It's not confidence in Dallas as much as NY isnt any good at all, and Garrett is definitely holding them back even further. They will be bad for a while.

The Coaches, Management and Players have be humiliated by the media everywhere. I doubt the players want to go through a week that they have had. Cowboys blow them out 48 to 14.

I'm confident I'll be disappointed this weekend.

Yep, this game is going to be close in the 4th quarter. And they may pull it out. But to me, it will indicate that the talent & coaching level together is just slightly better than a Barkley-less, Garrett-offense Giants team.

And that's a scary thought, but may be the reality
