I see everyone is already counting this week as a victory. I would not be one bit surprised if that is not the case. And I am not a pessimistic Cowboys fan or someone who likes to stir the proverbial pot.
Why do I think we could be in for a huge disappointment?......TURNOVERS and no pass rush.
If we do what we have shown we are so WONT to do , and also give Jones the time needed to operate...we are leaving ourselves wide open.
Good Lord I hope we win but right now anything can and has happened.
I believe the saying goes..
"On any given Sunday.."
I have to admit our 1st 4 games have been against serious contenders for post season playoff positions.
And we competed right to the end staying within winnable distance at the 2 minute warning in every loss.
Having to have to lose like that is habit forming. We all saw too much of that in 2019.
So overconfidence hardly seems possible.
But you are right there is no room to assume anything..especially with the Giants and Garrett's knowledge of where to attack this defense.
To me I look at under-confidence as the problem. That "here we go again" feeling is the danger to avoid.
I said in another post that the team needs to relax and just play the scheme the coaches want. They have to execute the game plan and not get caught thinking too much.
Easier said than done.
But until they get back missing starters and plug them in..we just have no way of knowing if it's the scheme that is the problem..
or we just do not have the players to succeed.
As for our offense..the OL is so injured we only have one guy who is a starter..Martin. The rest of the positions are all 1st and 2nd year players.
I can not recall when we have had BOTH LINES so injured like this. It is seemingly some nightmare we need to wakeup from.
