I'll skip a game if there's snow on the ground and i'm hunting. But i'll tape it for later viewing that evening.

I am big on turning it off to only go back and turn it on 15 minutes later. Some weeks I do that a couple times.
Yeah.

I go for the mute button and find something to do.

I will glance at the screen to see if we have the ball back. Then sound on until the D returns to the field then mute.

The second halves are the only thing I want to watch.

First halfs?

We are too busy peeing on ourselves to call it entertaining.

I don’t mean turning a lopsided game off in the fourth quarter. I mean, is there ever a point you would stop watching Cowboys games until some sort of change occurs?

Last week, watching the defense got me thinking. There was no effort. They weren’t trying. I’m not saying anything controversial. Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin alluded to it. We’ve been saying it all week.

So why would we spend a large chunk of our Sundays watching millionaires show up to get a paycheck and have no greater positive impact than we do? Doesn’t it seem a little pointless?

I was probably moving on if the kept Garrett.

I haven't stopped watching, but in recent years I haven't always made it a point to see the game, and so miss pieces, and sometimes full games.

After almost 50 years of watching every single game I possibly could, I have not watched one single play this year. Will not watch ever again while the Jones' run the team.

i probably would get less ulcers if i turned it off...i must be crazy...the way i argue with a TV set and throw tantrums....i put this all on McCarthey.. every other NFL team has had to deal with difficulty this year....Nolan is much easier to lose for than Marinelli was...no one is afraid of these coaches...you cant play the way we did and have deep respect and or fear of the coaches....maybe Dak and Tank ( although way he is playing maybe no respect ? ) and some of the Vets will get rest of team fired up to crush Giants?

I stopped voluntarily watching from about 2005 to mid 2009. I rarely would watch an entire game. Would usually get disgusted in the 1st quarter and turn the game off. I would occasionally flip back to the game to see the team continued to struggle. Bought into the 2007 hype during the season and watched the entire 2007 crapfest playoff game reinforcing my belief the team sucked.

I had zero confidence the team could win with Tony Romo. Thought it was just a matter of time before he would break your heart and then my boss challenged me in 2009 to go research Romo and bring him objective information as to why he sucked instead of regurgitating the ignorant water cooler talk. I was surprised to find that Romo was a hell of a lot better than he was given credit for. I then became a huge Romo fan, joined the DC.com message board and would debate others. I starting watching every play of every game again in 2009 so I could know exactly what happened and not have to rely on highlights and/or biased opinions of what happened in a game.

If we lose to the Giants, I will rapidly begin to lose interest in this team.

Once they make me drink enough to the point where I don’t know what’s going on anymore I guess you could consider that me stop watching

Our watching or not has 0 effect on whether changes will be made or not. There will always be enough watching to justify that America's Team stuff.

I do not watch with any expectations but with curiosity as to what I will see. I have found myself watching Cowboys games with the same emotional detachment as any other NFL game. I am not engaged or invested in the games but I do watch them.

They put that damn scoreboard in the way where you can’t look down from Heaven and watch. But maybe you’ll be looking up rather than down, I don’t know ...

I have quit watching Texas Ranger games when they get hopelessly out of the race, but there are 162 games in baseball. I can make through 16 games. Like others have said, my expectations aren’t what they once were, but unlike some, I still enjoy the competition, and anxiously hope to see the Cowboys do well and win. I think a key for me was getting older and having things in perspective. When I was younger a Cowboy loss would eat at me for days, but at this point in my life having kids and grandkids and work I enjoy far outweighs the disappointment of a Cowboy loss.
