If Dalton goes down then we’re probably a player in the Trevor Lawrence sweepstakes. Do you really want to sacrifice that lottery ticket for the extra win or two that a street free agent might get you?

what if we are 5 and 7 when he goes down? At that point we’re probably only looking at a top 10 pick ....no chance on tlaw

I wouldn't be shocked if they sign a veteran, but at this point, are any of them going to be better than DiNucci? Unless they pry some name out of retirement, I doubt it.

I don’t see us going 3-4 over the next two months. It took time expiring FGs to beat two 0-5 teams. That’s with our QB1 playing all but half of this game. Now we’re going to improve with our backup playing?

A late round rookie QB playing behind an OL missing three starters + this defense is a recipe for a once in a generation draft pick.

The guy they bring in will have real NFL experience. DiNucci hasn't even played in a preseason game. His role this year is as a clipboard holder not the backup QB.
We thought the same thing about Dak a couple years back. Romo and Moore had injuries that forced Dak into the lineup. Dinucci has had the play book for a few months now. Let's see if the kid has the chops to play in the NFL.

But hey, we can always bring back Mike White. He's played in some preseason games for us. lol--JK.

Prescott had rookie mini camps, OTAs and a preseason.

DiNucci was a 6th round reach with just a training camp.

Is it time for the Nooch? Is there actually anyone with a heartbeat out on the street?
This defense is historically bad. This team would have been lucky to get 6-7 wins with Dak. They have beat two winless teams in nailbiters. There is no point in bringing in any outside help now.

If they weren't completely sold on dak, now is the opportunity they have been waiting for. They can look at drafting a qb in the top of the draft. Then they don't have to worry about committing 40 million a year to the QB and another 15 or so to zeke.

This team has holes everywhere. It's the perfect time to suck and get the best QB prospect in a long time.

Here is a thought. What about signing Josh Rosen off the tampa practice squad or trevor simian off the titans practice squad.

I imagine Josh Rosen would be on the top of the list along with Kizer. Cooper rush will likely get a look as the Cowboys will need an arm in practices. Need 3 QBs to throw the ball in practice. I imagine teams like TB will protect a QB on the PS to force a trade and not give up someone for free.

No to simian.

I would take Rosen.

He has a lot of talent. McCarthy may be able to
Develop him.....

they would probably block it. My mindset is that if he worked out as a good backup this year he could step into that role next year behind Dak having a year under his belt and the team would not have to go chase another qb and start over in the offseason.
