Yeah based on him essentially being a pocket passer........I don't think he'll have any physical limitations......

If you remember that series where Dak was playing while his hand was bleeding, you know he will come back sooner than expected. And if he goes from being the guy who runs like a FB to a guy that stays in the pocket more, that is just fine.

Might be a bad time to mention a new contract, but I believe this serious injury guarantees Dak stays in Big D. Jerry knows how good Dak is, and now this injury will force Dak to settle for less per year (low 30 million per year). A longterm contract would benefit Dak this time due to this injury.

It hurt seeing him being carted off

I don't think I've ever seen the entire team come over to the cart like that. Before the cart pulled out, one of the last guys talking to him was Justin March, a backup on defense who certainly isn't in any of the position meetings with Dak. That and Garrett coming over really tells you all you need to know about Dak's leadership on this team.

I agree.

I'm trying to remember how the Allen Hurns thing played out. Different caliber of player and different station but didn't they retain him past training camp?I know he eventually got let go.

I could see that happening. They weren't far apart last time, if they had another day they apparently would have signed a deal. Watson's contract may give Dak's agent an argument to argue for more but this will give the team an argument for less. I don't think either side will do it, they will just sign for what they would have this year.

I have no doubt he will be back and ready to roll faster then most. I hope he heals up and is ready to lead this team next season.
If it was anything like Hurns' injury, which just from an outside perspective seems to be the case, Dak should be ready to go for off season stuff barring any unforeseen setbacks.

Hurns dislocated and broke his ankle in the Seahawks playoff game on January 8th 2019 and he played in Miami's season opener for the 2019 season on September 09, 2019.

Again, this complete speculation on my part without any of the details, but ..... it seems like a very similar injury and from all reports, everything went as well as one could hope for.

Simply put, if Dallas wants Dak to open the 2021 season as the starting QB, I don't see any issues with that physically.

He's a special guy man. I said it on another thread but when people ask what is Dak good at.....just see the look on everyones face while he was on that cart.

Don’t bank on Dak settling for low 30 mil per year or a 4 year deal

The thing that made Dak infuriating is what will be helpful in his return to form.

He never used his mobility as much as some would have liked so it’s not like losing Michael Vick or Steve Young’s mobility.
