To be honest, there were a couple bad throws. But that’s to be expected just coming in, but the positives far outweighs the negatives. His wind up and release us much quicker, he stands in the pocket and let’s it rip, he didn’t bail early. He went through his progressions when he had too.

I'll say man he looked well. Initially he started off rusty.....but as the game got on he looked good. Definitely looked accurate with the football. Could'n't have a better back up QB.

Sure did.. how many times did Moore have to start running the ball to take the ball out of Dak’s hands while he gave up a pick 6 and our defense got us 6? Man those bootlegs play-action dump offs were so amazing, only Dak could run them!!!

So wha your saying is Dalton did what Dak does, except actually win the game, for thirty million cheaper..

The play at 0:32 is what is going to do us in with him and what lost him his job in Cincy. That’s a pick 6 most of the time, his only saving grace was the throw was so bad the DB couldn’t get it.

He’s a decent NFL QB but he has been a turnover MACHINE since 2015.

You know what you are getting from Dalton. He is an average NFL quarterback who will occasionally have a big game, but more than likely will fail in a big spot. He's basically Kirk Cousins. That said, he has an absurd amount of talent on this offense. There is no reason he shouldn't put up Top 10-15 passing stats with this squad.

If you take a look at another post there is some flaws in Dalton's game. The almost pick on the pass to Cooper was a really bad decision. If you replay the video at the top of this thread at the 32 second mark there was absolutely no need to panic and make that throw.

I am also interpreting that Dalton did not go through more than two progressions there. Lamb first and then Cooper second, but he did not have to make the throw because the pocket had not collapsed at the time.

Dalton is now the Cowboys' QB for the rest of the season, and he deserves our support, but I don't think we should be sitting here denigrating Dak knowing that Dalton also has flaws to his game.

Except for the fumble, he did all you can ask for a backup qb to do in that situation.

It's hard to evaluate how he'll do from those passes as most were dump offs the receivers got good YAC and MG isn't going to make those ridiculous catches every game. One thing going for him is that he's experienced QB. Full week of practice as starter should help also.

So rooting for Dak to get overpaid is ok, but rooting for Dalton isn't?

It's not Cinncy and maybe you should see what he does here.

People may laugh...but it's possible. We gotta figure out the O-line to give him time though. I'll say this going forward...he's more accurate than Dak....giving the backs and WRs more opportunities to run after the catch than Dak....knows where to go w/ the football...where sometimes Dak doesn't.

Going to be interesting to see if he improves w/ a week full of reps. Felt like he kind of got off to a shaky start...but he knew the offense...and that's big going forward. Hell... who knows...He could be our Nick Foles or Kurt Warner.
