Dak is coming back. Jerry has been big on stability and keeping his guys around in recent years. Just look at how long he kept Garrett when the whole world knew it was time for a change. This is not the old wheeler dealer Jerry Jones. I think Jerry knows he is in his final years and just wants some stability. Dak provides that. A change at QB would mean a complete rebuild with a rookie QB or washed-up veteran.

Dak played his last game as a Cowboy today......those were not tears of pain.
pappy let me ask you the question. . . you have been spot on in your evaluation if Dak thus far. . . in what scenario does Dak remain with the team? And how much would you be willing to pay a scrambling QB with no wheels?

Yeah, he either got some very bad advice from his agent or he made a horrible decision. No way he should have turned down $32M/yr with the added benefit of $7M in automatic endorsements.

He made the decision, now he will live with it. $100M for a 4th round pick. He should for his agent. Dumb move. I'll take Dalton.

As far as I can tell He is not signed in 2021. There's no way he is getting franchised. If he hits the open market he is gone. Why do people here keep talking as if he will be a part of the team next year. . . unless Cowboys sign him for 9 million so he can rehabilitate at the Star.

Seriously, How much would you be willing to throw away nursing him back to health? I wouldn't go any higher then 11 million. . . for old times sake

He will be an opposing QB.

Allen Hurns had pretty much the exact same injury (from everything we know so far) in January 2019, and was playing WR for the Dolphins in September 2019.

And I don't care how much a QB runs, they don't run as much a WRs do.

So before you wish too hard Dak is done, you may not want to count your chickens before they hatch.

Just a suggestion.
Alan Hurns played football in 2019. . .

I agree and I hope that's how it plays out. I hope Jerry still gives him the 100 million signing bonus but the contract is for 5 years and for less amount per year than the 35 Jerry offered in March. The only thing that makes me feel better is that this could be a blessing in disguise, maybe this will wake Dak up that he needs to get as much guaranteed money possible and let go of the idea of a 4 year deal. Dak might be easier to negotiate with or he may fire his agent and get a better one. I just hope and pray he recovers fully and gets his money. Seeing him in tears as he was carted off really made me sad. It shook me up. I feel terrible for the guy and I hope his story is a happy one and I hope it's with Dallas.
You really want to give a 1 legged scrambling QB a 100 million. . . you are probably one if those who regret signing Jaylon

No doubt but even then what kind if contract could he demand. He will have to sign a multi year deal with incentives and small signing bonus or wait out a year. And then Sign a small 1 year prove it contract

See i dont care about the player.

He seems to be a very likeable person. But that does not count for me.
I have a lot of friends. But they dont get payed by me. If id run a NFL franchise i want a QB who actually knows how to play the position and not someone i like.
I feel bad for Dak but that doesnt change my financial approach.

I dont care where he gets a new contract and how that looks. He played a risky game and lost.

Bye bye. I am happy for my franchise.

No scenario as old man Jerry and Son just had luck smile on them with this injury as it was clear as a sunny day that they were not sold on him after 4 years.
Jerry was saved from the politics involved of having to bench him or simply release him to the FA pool in the Spring as Daks PR skills are (unlike his arm talents) impressive.
Dalton was only a matter of time the injury made it a reality sooner than later.
Dalton will excel under center for us as the talent pool around him is above average.
They throw the word hate here like its candy but in the end, Dak was and is a Tier 3 QB now with a major injury on his resume.
I foresee Dak's NFL career to be a very short one.
Dak's 15 min have expired as Andy Warhol would say .....

Yep from 9-7 to 10-6 then 8-8 to today's 1-3 so far this year with Dak is stable but not the stability Jerry is looking for!
Bud, we're not a retirement center just looking to be regular every morning if you get my drift......

I don’t know. This defense is epic level horrible, just rebuilding it may take a few years. This isn’t a swap out one or two players and we are a playoff team. So far this season there are only a couple players who should feel safe in their position on defense. I think a rebuild after the Garrett years maybe unavoidable now.

You really think the Cowboys are gonna franchise a one legged Duck. The only time he is successful is when he is running around dumping passes off. Accuracy, reading the field and touch are not his strong suits. His legs are.

He is done and if Mr. Jones pays him the Cowboys are done.
Wow!

You know less than nothing.

I did't thinkthat was possible

Seriously dude. You're going to make a comment like that and Dak isn't even out of surgery yet. Wow. I get it, you don't like the guy. But if you, or any other Cowboys fan, didn't feel anything when Dak was being carted off the field crying then I'd have to question if are you a Cowboy fan and also if are you a human being?

Some of you guys should be ashamed of yourselves. When SAS and Eagles' fans are more concerned about the well being of our player than you guys are then you have taken this whole thing a little too far. Show some respect.
